I can't argue with that logic, let's see how they react to the notion.

The only concern I see they might have (not that there couldn't be others, just that this is the only one that occurs to little ol' me) is that they can't really proof the lot this way, so they may be concerned with getting a lot of flack if the files aren't clean enough.

Then again, I usually see a few errors in their RTF's to begin with, so ....

Heh, I remember reading a John Ringo book that I got off one of the Baen CDs which still had comments in it like "/// explain <some ritual>. Toni should know it if I forget ///" I bought the webscriptions version and it was fine, but it was pretty fun to see the random comments.

I try to support Baen every chance I get, because I want to encourage their business model and DRM free distribution. Maybe one day the suits at Tor will stop clinging so desperately to their outmoded ideas of how the world works, and renew their relationship with Webscriptions. If I can't get it DRM free (in any format) or in .LIT format (Which is the same thing in the end ), I don't buy it. It means there are some books I would like to read that I can't, but I refuse to reward companies for behaviour I want to discourage.

Sounds like that may have been an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC). They sell them through webscriptions.net for most new books, but they're ~$15 and come out a couple of months before the actual release dates. If you enjoyed that, you can probably get more.

In fact, I'll drop him an email with this offer right now. We'll see what happens...

Very nice in deed. I downloaded one of the free eBook in LRF and it looks pretty good I must say. Well done on a good job of formatting.

Thank you Xenophon, and all who encouraged the format addition by Baen. Just great.
