So Viviena, if you have nothing in the extra CSS field, where are you adding the CSS that you posted above?

Problem is I'm at my office right now and won't be able to test further till I get home tonight, but, I'm dreading having to reconvert everything, to be honest, but, if that's what must be done, then so be it. Hopefully someone can chime in, in the next 8 hours or so, with an alternative to that not-so-pleasant task.

elemenoP, my 350 has the custom PRS+ firmware. It has an option to allow books to use a system stylesheet across all books, and depending on the code, should override CSS defined at the EPUB level too. I use this 'universal stylesheet' option so that I can see my preferred font used across all my books and I only have to edit the one file to cause this change.
EDIT: 'Edit the one file'. That's true for the Boroda firmware, which I used previously. The PRS+ firmware allows any one stylesheet to be executed from a choice of several, as Japes points out. Last edited by viviena; 06-23-2011 at 09:08 AM. |

You don't have PRS+ installed, do you? That CSS is created for each individual font that you have on the reader. With PRS+, you can switch between style sheets (fonts).

Ah, I don't have PRS+ installed. I am adding the CSS to each conversion. That could be why other people don't have this problem. Japes, you are using PRS+ or not?

So maybe the problem I am describing is not your problem, if Viviena doesn't have it.

I don't quite think you understand. It could very well be what you are saying because, if you read above, Vivienna doesn't have ANY values set for Line Height, other than the 120% minimum, which doesn't really affect anything. So, in other words. What she is doing in Calibre conversions, and what I'm doing in Calibre conversions, isn't the same. You may very well have hit the nail on the head (won't know till I get home tonight to test), because, I'm setting a line height during the conversion (which Vivienna is not doing), which possibly isn't being overridden with the custom CSS.

Japes, I just sent you through PM 3 of my stylesheets for LexiaDaMa that are quite a bit different from each other. Those stylesheets loaded on the Sony also overwrite every epub I've tried so far. Before I installed PRS+ I tested a few books converting them through Calibre with about 6 different fonts and my stylesheets overwrite every one of them. They also overwrite fully embedded fonts, such as Delphin's example of "Through the Looking Glass" with his NimbusMod font.

Ripplinger, thanks. The font changes work (they always have). What I'm having trouble with is the line heights. When you convert in Calibre, do you set line heights on there? That might be the problem.

No, I'm pretty certain back then I didn't change line height. But I sent you another longer css file that Barium made up that seems to have every possible item changed in it. If mine don't work, see if using his longer one will.
