Changing the default database

Each time I open Calibre it defaults to an empty database. I deleted the other dabases it knows and it still defaults to that empty one. How can I tell it this is your only database?

If you are using the portable version calibre will always open with the library inside the calibre portable folder.

Is it possible to tweak that? Is there going to be an option for that?
