They shouldn't be able to. Their pre-order price guarantee says they'll give it to you for the lowest price it was offered for between the time you order and the time it's actually available. If it's free when/after you ordered, they should have to honor that.

I've pre-ordered several ebooks in the past that were $0.00 and can't recall ever being charged a penny for them later.

Are these complete books or only previews? Five KB seems a bit short for a 576-page book.

. Australia may have better free health care than the US but at least they get to grab any ebook they want.

Not free in Europe too it seems, it's a shame, probably I would buy them if only they weren't so expensive. Prices here range from $8 to $13, but most are $8 and one isn't available.
