i contributed to that ! they were good books and i think they gained steam from his $0.99 release and became top sellers everywhere.

I bought a couple from Kobo with the $1 off coupons - but I've yet to read the books.

He sure does seem to be all over the bestseller lists lately. He must be really happy.

I normally buy his books from Smashwords. Defiantly not an Indie author to be missed!
He has a website here.
I know alot people think that 99 cents reads can't be quality but I really like his writing.

may be age getting in, but I'm sick to death with our current cult of fun and mindless entertainment going on in our culture. It seems we've got this huge 1-click remote control that can deliver all kinds of good instantaneously to us and we use it to zap mindlessly through myriads of dumb content. There's no creation anymore, just dull, countless recycling and parodying of previous centuries content in videogame pace...

I did the "John Locke who?" thing as well ... the first time I'd heard about hijm was about three weeks ago in a Wall Street Journal article about ebook retailing.

I'm surprised Amanda Hocking or JA Konrath didn't get there first.

I haven't read any of his work, so this may be an unfair conclusion, but after a quick search it looks to me like he sold 1 million tantalizing covers.

John Locke's books aren't up my alley, but I think all kinds of fiction are valid. I like both literature and video games, there's worthwhile stories in both mediums. As long as books are honest about whether they're high-brow or low-brow, or they emphasize serious themes or pop culture commentary, I think they have value as long as they connect to someone out there. Cheer up! Creation is everywhere!
