The grand experiment goes on. In the parcel from The Chinese Tea Company I received last week, I had three free samples. One of them was 2006 Nu Er Bing Cooked Puer. I was very sceptical about it. I was planning to reply to their last email on Monday and I thought I was going to say something along the lines: I have tried many different cooked Pu-Erh. From different sources, including a cake from Tea Smith. More or less it always tastes the same. After I tried 2006 Nu Er Bing Cooked Puer I decided that my reply is going to be different. This Pu-Erh tea is rich. I never tried cooked Pu-Erh like that. It is a similar aroma and similar flavour, but only similar. She (the owner) chipped off cake bits. They didn't open after the first 3min/90C infusion, but what a flavour! Aroma is also different, very rich. I cannot think of another word to describe it. I just finished second infusion and the characteristics stayed 85% the same. I am going to ask her, how she recommends to infuse it. We made 2 cups and there is enough for one more. We live and learn every day. |

It seems to rain every day. I guess that's why they call this Rainy Season. Makes sense... Gentle rain, though. Can't call it a storm. Almost pleasant. I guess the flowers love it. Ducks too. Lapsang Souchong tea to start off this rainy day. Extra smokey stuff from McNultey's Tea & Coffee in NYC. Potent drink, just right for a rainy Monday. And a hot bowl of muesli with strawberries to go with it. I'm ready. Stitchawl |

Yup I never heard of hot muesli before. There is porridge (hot) and muesli (cold) in my world. Porridge is the cereal without the fruits and muesli with the fruit. Real Bircher muesli is soaked overnight with a bit of water and filled up in the morning with condensed milk, not fresh milk. |

Coke Zero #1 My diet would be going better if I hadn't had an enormous supper last night (Slow roast beef, roast potatoes, parsnip mash, steamed cabbage, carrots, lettuce, followed by coffee & walnut cake with vanilla ice-cream, and then several chocolates.) But the Coke Zero is certainly better for me that full-sugar Coke. |
