Hmm try the --verbose switch. Is html2lrf detecting a chapter beginning. If so, you can disable it with --chapter-regex "$"
As for the ideal image size...I'm afraid I don't remember, you'll have to experiment. Use the --lrs switch and look at the LRS file to see if html2lrf is including the original image or not. |

Ok, this is interesting. The system is scaling images to 723x540. I put in an image at 723x540, and the system scales it to the same size. I put in an image at 722x539, and the system scales it to 723x540. This does not seem right.
If I follow the code right, it calls "fit_image", but fit_image would not scale the image in either of these cases. I wouldn't normally care about it scaling my GIF to the same size as it starts out, but I took a some effort reducing the size of the GIF (by making it 4 colour), and the scaling step neatly increases my image size threefold. Is there some way to turn scaling off? Or for it to not scale an image at all if it's at the right size? |

Hmm sounds like bugs to me. The images shouldn't be unneccessarily scaled and there should be blank pages because of chapter detection. Open tickets with test cases, and I'll look at them.

Hmm, ok. Looks like at least part of this was my fault. I had an incorrect "width" and "height" attribute on the <img> tag. I still have the extra page break though, and it definately seems to be from the chapter detection. I'll file a bug. It's not the end of the world though. I still think that if you detect a chapter right after a page break or full page image, you might as well not break again. I note you do that after a <br>, but you don't seem to do it after the full page image. It might have something to do with the extra empty <p> I saw in the LRS, but I don't know enough about the format to be sure.

Must be my day to be invincibly dense, but I just cannot get lbprs500 to see any font on my machine. I have disabled all font management programs. I have gotten several true type fonts and installed them using FontBook and when that didn't work installed them by copying them manually into /user/me/library/fonts. When that did not work I thought that perhaps the problems was the fact that the font families were in suitcases so I extracted the individual fonts using Fondu and installed them using both methods described above. When all that failed I extracted copies of the new MS fonts from Power Point Viewer and tried using them. Again no joy. The only "fonts which seem to be available in lbprs500 are; Bitstream Vera Sans Bitstream Vera Sans Mono Bitstream Vera Serif Luxi Sans Luxi Serif Luxi Mono And that is also a problem because have no fonts installed on my machine named Vera or Luxi. I've struggled with this since noon and its now nearly 11 PM and I am no closer to understanding what I am doing or not doing that is the problem. As a final note I rebooted my machine after each installation or deletion and of course to no avail. |

As a first check (and I apologize if it is silly):
I'm assuming you used /User/me/Library/Fonts not /usr/me/library/fonts ? The capitalization matters |

Actually i went to the folder when I did copying. I was only trying to document the path. Also, it should be obvious, my home folder is not "me" but is rather a derivative of my name. "me" is just a mask. And, yes, I am aware that in command mode case is important.
When someone asks for help no question is silly. I tell the story of one young lady I had the pleasure to work with some years ago; she would call once or twice a week when her computer wouldn't boot. I quickly learned to ask if she was sure it was plugged in. The cleaning crew tended to dislodge her power plug and she never remembered to check it for herself! Sigh those were the days. |

Kovid,
I have had no luck at all with the Optane fonts - I am really only interested in the compact font. They are provided in format that has the extention .fam. The Mac is happy tp have the .fam files installed and extracts the fonts, which are suppose to be truetype, from them. I also have been able to extract them with the utility fondu and the extracted files have the extention .ttf - indicating that they are, indeed truetype. Finally I ran them through FontForge regenerating them as truetype fonts. Nothing seems to make a difference. I did note a file naming error in that the files extracted from the OptaneExtraBold.fam had the same name as the regular and the italic files did from the Optane.fam. But this was only in the external file name. The internal file names were correct and FontForge correctly named the processed files. I will make a .zip file and send them to you. Meanwhile I am going to revert my Mac to OS 10.4.11 and see if that makes a difference. All I have to do is find the external disk with the older OS on it. |

One quick check, are the TTF files in the Library/Fonts directory or in a subdirectory of it? If they're in a subdirectory, move them into the directory iteself.
