But thank you! It is a very nice drink. Of the family of the sidecar. I mix one for my wife every Sunday. With wodka instead of brandy.like yours, they call it Balalika in this part of the world. Very fine drink. With tequila it becomes a Margarita, and with gin a White Lady.

@beppe: good stuff, thanks! Interesting about the "Balalika" name - always thought that was a Russian stringed instrument as I recall.

I think it's definitely worth a go. Elderflowers are out all over the place at the moment. Anyone else tried making elderflower cordial?

Unluckily, they are all gone now here, maybe they are in bloom in the mountains. If I knew that it was so good and so easy to prepare, I would have done much more. Next year. Yes the fragrance is quite powerful. Compared to a high price commercial one it has a subtle but distinct lemony twist.

I put the sodium benzoate to avoid yeast fermentation. That is why I put it in the freezer in plastic bottles.

This week though, I've had more lemonade than anything else.
