Got some rain here, but I can't send it over, we need it here (though it's probably not enough anyway).

I had to empty the covers of my planters, because my plants were in danger of drowning in the water that had accumulated. But that's from that heavy rain last week-end, since then it's been gray and cold but I don't think a lot of water actually fell.

Pop up thunderstorms are developing ... but not moving a bit. There's a large one that's been sitting just north of Durham for the last 3 hours. We can hear the thunder but totally dry here. Needless to say, flash flood warnings are up for those folk sitting under those stationary clouds.

We got rain and t-storms today. Between the showers, I was able to grind a bit on the new walkway. I can't wait to get back to the job, but that will probably be Monday, and possibly once again between the rain drops.

It is so cold.
Too cold to do anything. The thermometer in the kitchen says 17 degrees C however it feels way colder than that.
I wish I owned a heater.
Being wrapped in a blanket and snuggling up with my ebook reader is just not cutting it. Might have to get out the wii and warm up by "cycling" around the island.
I wish my nice warm husband was home instead of in stupid Darwin. He says it is cold there too - but I ask you - Darwin? I don't think they know the meaning of cold in Darwin.

As at 2pm (45 minutes ago) it was 25C in Darwin. I put it to you that his complaints of cold against our freezing misery (14C) here in SE Queensland definitely warrants a sullen cold shoulder on next contact.

Hell yes brrrr. Waiting for the call to go back to warm old Darwin. Even if it is a chilly 25°C Sitting here (with chest sore - skin around snout raw) With jammies, jacket, beanie and sox. WAiting for it to be late enough to have bath and get back in bed. I only got out about 2pm. Now heading for 3pm. Must start running that bath soon before it gets late!

My husband is due back on Monday week. Can't come soon enough for me! His boat got back in today and won't be going back out to sea. I don't see why they can't send him back early, so he can KEEP ME WARM. I am pretty sure that is what I married him for.
The thermometer still says 18 degrees. I am sure now that it isn't working anymore. And it has started raining! It isn't supposed to rain in Queensland in winter - it should be sunny.

Erm... unless my unit converter is lying, 14C is 57 degrees F. And y'all are cold?? It gets down to 20 below zero FAHRENHEIT in the winter here....I think this last year we had one night that it was 29 below zero (ambient temperature, NOT windchill, the windchill was 40 below). If it gets up to 57 F here in January, we put on shorts and flipflops and go shopping without jackets on!

Yes but you have houses designed to keep you warm. Our houses are designed to keep us cool. And now that it is below 20°C we are rugging up with sox and hats and doonas and stuff and it is bluddy freezing and I have a cold.

And I suppose too that it's all about what you're acclimated to. But the thought still boggles my mind.

Plus, I would venture to guess that at 14°C/57°F you have the heater on and it's warmer inside. She said she has no heater. And she didn't say whether the 14° were inside or outside.

Sunny and cold (for June) here this morning.

What SS is saying is, here in Queensland we are all winter-weather wusses.
