I just saw this on Not Always Right and thought of our resident tea drinkers:

Why Can’t We All Just Get Oolong
(Posted by a coffee shop employee in California)

Customer: “What is the difference between chai tea and Tai Chi?”

Me: *jokingly* “Well, one is a spiced black tea, and the other is a can of whoop-a**.”

Customer: “I think I’ll have the black tea.”

Vanille latte macchiato.

I'm going to work really hard today so all my chores (cleaning apartment, washing the windows, groceries, ...) are done by tonight and I can have three more days of decadent relaxation (so basically doing nothing ) before I have to go back to work.

Hey! You and me both!! I made yoghurt smoothies for me and my wife just now. Less ingredients than yours though. I used yoghurt semi-frozen mango, semi-frozen strawberries, and a spoonful of honey! Tasty stuff!

That sounds good too! I just use whatever fruit I have in the house. No matter what I throw in there, it always tastes great Good idea to put honey in a smoothie, I'm going to try that next time I think.

Cran Blackberry.

The good news is that Mom's angiogram shows no damage to the heart and no blockages. The bad news is that she had an Atrial Fibrillation and then a stress related response to the Atrial Fibrillation that looked like a mild heart attack. While Atrial Fibrillation are not uncommon, two events in three days is not good so she is staying in the ICU while they run 9,000 tests. Hopefully this is something that can be controlled by medicine but we will not know for a few days.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

The yoghurt that we buy here comes un-sweetened, which is the way I usually prefer it. They include a little package of powdered sugar that can be stirred in if desired. For smoothies, I want it just a little sweet, but don't want to use sugar, so the honey works out well.

I use unsweetened yoghurt as well, but because I add orange juice and sweet fruits the smoothy tastes a little sweet. I would add honey for the taste though, not to make it sweeter. My dad's a beekeeper, I can't eat honey without remembering all those summer nights when he was preparing the honeycombs to extract the honey. Us kids would be standing right by his side scooping up any honey that fell out on the plates he was using. Afterwards we were all sick from all the honey we had eaten Good times

In my cup: Rooibos Orange Lemon Lime

Two pots of High Mountain Artisinal which I am really enjoying. It is one of my new Oolongs. The first time I had it I liked it but didn't think it was that special. I tried it right after the Milk Oolong which knocked my socks off. This time I really liked it. I would buy it again.

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

A peaceful greeting for a new morning, all! Gentle rain falling outside, very much a summer shower. To meet it, I'm drinking Ti Quan Yin oolong cha. It goes well with the day.

Reminds me of chilly April evenings in Vermont during 'Sugaring Season.' Day temps must be above freezing and night's below for the sap to flow. After collecting buckets of it and pouring it into the evaporator, we'd (the neighbors and kids,) build a huge fire under the pan, boiling the sap down into Maple syrup. Everybody standing around trying to keep warm by the fire. The adults all keeping warm by passing a bottle. All the kids stand around with plates of fresh snow, and when the syrup is ready, some gets drizzled onto the snow, making a sort of Maple toffee, and the kids gobble the stuff up!

You grew up with Laura Ingalls Wilder? Because I'm pretty sure that scene was described in "Little House in the Big Woods."

Beer. Yummy Beer.

Talked with Dad. Mom is ok. She is out of it due to meds and her heart deciding it needs to run marathons at random times but she said a quick hello. Actually what she said is "I don't want to talk but your Father is making me" which I took as hello. They are removing an instrument that they inserted into her yesterday to regulate her heart rate tomorrow morning. Hopefully all goes well and her heart stays at a normal pace. If it does they will move her out of ICU.

Thank you for the kind words and messages. It means a lot.
