No electric screwdriver, my brother usually takes that with him when he comes over to help me. I have two screwdrivers and a hammer, that's really all you need to assemble furniture

I'm nearly done, just two small cabinets for my expedit room divider left. They should take me about 10 minutes each, but I'm going to take a break and have dinner first.

Then came home and put the footstool together, and luckily this time everything fit together right and I didn't have any trouble with it. Have fun!
I bought a poang chair today, I've always wanted one but they are a little expensive. But today there was one in the 'discount corner' and I decided to buy it (it was half price just because the box was banged up and there are some minor scratches on the chair). While I was assembling it my cat was sleeping on the sofa. The second the chair was ready he woke up, meowed, walked over to the chair, jumped on, curled up on the chair and went back to sleep I guess that means it's a good chair ...

Ah, yes, but then that means you also don't have a roommate who turns the TV way up because he's half deaf, or fills the house with the smell of kim chi... Seriously, though, he's like family to me. He's 20 years older with no children, so he watches out for me, worries about me, makes sure I eat and all that. He's awesome.

I actually do the dishes sometimes. It's just that I rarely use that many dishes compared to him. I might go an entire day on one mug, one glass, two plates and a fork. When I cook, I make enough for a few days, so I don't use the pans and such every day like he does. (We're so different food-wise that sharing meals would never work.)

But the ice trays... the Ice Fairy takes care of those. I leave them empty on the counter and they reappear in the freezer, filled and frozen by the next morning. John swears it's not him, and truth be told, I've never actually seen him fill them. (I think he's trying to help me reclaim my lost childhood by way of the Ice Fairy mythology. All I know is, I never run out of ice.)

In my cup: Coffee.

When I got my wrist slapped along with astra last week, Tom was good enough to tell me which the offending articles were. I'm sure he would do the same for astra.

You ask how much I need you, must I explain?
I need you, oh my darling, like roses need rain.
You ask how long I'll love you; I'll tell you true:
Until the twelfth of never, I'll still be loving you.

I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.

Good morning, everyone! Another cloudy day in the Kansai... Sorry we couldn't give you some sunshine, captkjaneway, for your visit, but this time of the year we need to keep it cloudy and rainy so the new rice with take root.

Today begins with a big mug of keemun tea along side my rice. Hearty stuff, that!

Being one who hates to do dishes, I learned early on that when I'm alone for any length of time, I only take one of each out of the cupboard; one plate, one fork, one spoon, one bowl, etc. And NEVER leave them in the sink. As soon as I finish my meal, and even before finishing my tea, I'll wash everything I used and put it in the drying rack.

When she first posted this I rode out to try to find some nice looking shaded tea gardens. Unfortunately, every place that I saw looked like it was covered with ratty, dirty, used black plastic, both sheets and nets. I couldn't find any that looked nice. Look through Google Images, I see they have the same difficulties!

Time for a second mug... More of the same, I think!

Where have I lost you?

My water dispenser has a setting for 175 and the water needs to be 160 so I have been letting the water cool a bit before putting the tea in.

If folks could keep my Mom in their thoughts. She has had two heart related scares this week. My Dad says the doctors are not calling them heart attacks but she has had shortness of breath and her heart rate has greatly increased. She has been shocked twice to reset her rhythm. She is in the ICU as a precautionary measure tonight. I am hoping that it is minor, as minor as anything related to the heart can be, but we will not know for a few days.

Yes, I remember now. And you wanted to shade the remaining twin. Why not. She might like it.
