nah I do not think so.

Ipad is good for reading comics and pdf's, taking notes and surfing. Touch is my PA and I keep it in a pocket. I am traveling a bit more, and the kindle is good for longer trips, as it needs very little recharging. Commuting on the train, I use Ipad, with 3G.

A fine trick is that kindle synchronizes books through all my gadgets that have kindle reader.

Nice avatar. Your sweet disposition is put in evidence brightly.

Three years ago two people made a booklet called De Kat in de Stad (The Cat in the City). Apparently in Utrecht many stores, restaurants and cafés have cats, they made pictures of a lot of those cats and wrote a little piece about each.

One of the cats featured in this booklet was our Nikita, Lexie and Snoepie (who died not long after the book was released) are also mentioned but Nikita is the one who is most often downstairs in our store. After the release we had a lot people coming in and ask about Nikita, wanting to see her and taking her picture.

The city archive just opened a new exhibition about animals in the city and the Cat in the City booklet has been updated. Last week one of the authors came to bring a poster sized photo of Kita and today he brought over the booklet. We bought 20 more to sell in our store. I expect more people coming to see Kita in the coming weeks/months.

I'm now updating my Blackberry and it seems to take longer than I anticipated. It's in the reboot phase which can take up to 30 mins.

I would love to see that booklet! Any chance it's available to us here in the U.S.?

It doesn't seem to be available in stores. You could try emailing the author, his email address is on the website of the book: Kat in de Stad. When you click on the contact link you'll see Kita on the stairs (that's also the poster he gave us). The photo was taken 3 years ago, she doesn't wear the collar anymore. The towel on the stairs is Lexie's observation spot where she can see what's happening both in the store and outside on the street.

Keep in mind the book is in Dutch.

I really just wanted to see the picture of Nikita, so the website does it for me. What a great picture -- I didn't know Kita was black! What color is Lexie?

@ dreams: how come can that nice umbrella protect you from the sunlight/rain/whatsoever? It has holes! Fashionalized holes, but holes, still. Besides good-looking holes, it also possesses (I like this word, it has so many 's's) a transparent look.

The only reasonable explanation I can think of about why it was possibly made, is photography. It was made to be shot. As if the lady in your avatar steps out of the past, you know, the time when they dressed dramatically with tons of fancy clothes.

Nikita is our own Basement Cat (although she doesn't want to go into the basement alone). Lexie is a mix of black, browns, white. She always reminds me of Yum Yum from Lilian Jackson Braun's Cat Who... books: shy but at times naughty.

The iPod app connects via Bluetooth to the speakers in my helmet, so I get some nice music when I ride. The 'note' app carries all my to-do lists, as well as all those little scraps of paper that 'used to' fill my wallet. Translation when I don't know a word I need when shopping, Google look-up during information sharing with friends, camera to record signs I want for their phone numbers, QR reader app to get me more information, GPS when I get lost (often...) e-book reader when I don't have my Sony with me, Alarm clock, appointment calendar,... I don't know how I got along without it!

If dogs come too close they will attack. Lexie seems to especially hate little dogs. Nikita doesn't like to be petted but, unlike a normal cat, doesn't always walk away at times she scratches or bites (she was raised by dogs). They do keep away the mice, which is great in an inner city plagued by mice and other rodents.

The battery life is the only thing I don't like about it. Often I have to charge it every night. I've even put an extra charging cable and a solar charger in my bike's saddle bags as I've occasionally almost run out of battery.

If I go for an all-day ride, and have music playing all day, make a few phone calls (the phone is set for Bluetooth connection directly to my motorcycle helmet too,) and make several GPS checks, the battery won't last more than 12-15 hours. That's a problem the engineers need to address.

Are you doing this using Caliber or Sony's software? How do you handle it?
