2 Odd Ermine Behaviors

Attempting to email as PDF a Journal file - Reader reports error creating file sdcard/public/email_attachments/Sketch.pdf (could not open file) Device storage could be full. Same error if I try to save as PDF. It will save to my external SD card though.

It's not full

There are several images in my library, I assume samples, Attempting to open one crashes the image viewer.
The image viewer works fine on any of my images.
However, attempting to add an image to the library produces an error. It begins to load and switches to error while adding: file name.
Anyone else?

Hi Cheyenne-

Emailing Journal as PDF worked fine for me (1 page journal filled with writing).
Also, adding an image from my gallery to the library works fine... no errors.

Hope this helps.

(Edit: in case it matters, this is on the EE, not my PE)
(More edits: I tried a multi-page journal and that worked as well. I'm using Froyoemail, not the "old" email.)
(And another: I just tried it using the "old" email app, and, while I did not get an error message, the file did not get sent, either.)

Both operations work for me on my PE.

For the Email as PDF, ensure there isn't already a file in that folder with the name you're trying to give it when doing the Email as PDF. If the Journal can't overwrite the existing file, it could cause such a problem.

I have noticed a couple of forum users indicating that Library and email operations report strange file system errors. I'm wondering if the Ermine update changes some of the locations and/or file/directory permissions. Yet for most people it's not a problem (I think). Again, your two issues are something that really only Tech Support (Level 3) would be able to help you with as it doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong.

I accidentally did this, and the EE prompted me to overwrite the file, which I did, and it was able to send without a problem.

Often the underlying OS has filenaming restrictions, so make sure not to use fancy/long names. If it is really called Sketch.pdf, that is obviously not an issue.

Maybe it is the image format/size, different apps may use different algorithms, so just because it opens in one that does not guarantee it will work in another. I deal with image format incompatibilities quite a bit, so I would try to resave, maybe resize the images and try again. If you're on a Mac the builtin Preview does a very good job, including conversions from JPG to PNG to TIF to PDF etc. and vice-versa.
