Sorry, I'm still skeptical about what enTourage is aiming for right now. The belief that they're just trying to weather a storm is based on a forum post by an anonymous commenter claiming so-and-so at enTourage told him this. Nothing personal against said poster, but that's pretty thin gruel.

The total silence on the forums, the dismantling of the store and product description pages...these don't line up with the story that we're being told. Yes, a full-time forum administrator costs money, but posting information once in a while doesn't, and taking down product ads from your own website doesn't save any money either.

It's not terrible, though. In my experience so far, access to anything worth running that isn't a pack-in is more of a barrier than the horsepower. I've snuck some off-market apps onto my eDGe and seen no speed issue. Although that will certainly change as tablets come out with NVidia graphics cores and PC-grade CPUs.

My running around with a tablet has convinced at least one co-worker in my office to get a tablet, although he chose a Nook Color and hacked the latest Android onto it. He has, at least, been highly curious to learn and remember the maker of my tablet, so I may be winning him over. More software and/or re-enabled rootability would definitely help the device for someone like him, though.

I'd definitely rather believe Entourage is right-sizing than dying, but I'm still glad my backup battery arrived and everything else with the device looks stable.

Of course there's merit to this, but for what it's worth, I do remember the original post on Mobile Read that he mentions where he described going into the offices back then and taking a machine for a test drive.

Now, I can't verify that this is the same guy, or that either conversation actually happened. Nor can I assume that the same people who talked to him last time are still at enTourage.

I'm just saying that's a pretty long con if you ask me. But again, point totally taken.
