I just checked. I did have Background data turned on under Accounts and Sync settings. Turned it off, put it into hibernation, and woke up with no problems.

Will test more over the next day or so to make sure.

If another person with hibernation issues can also verify this, that would be great.

I'm not running with the crowd, unfortunately: had the hibernation = death issue, turned off the Background data, and still have the hiberation = death issue.

My second hibernation didn't go over as well. I had to yank the battery.

I'm having the same hibernation problem. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable hibernation? I've been leaving it open or flipping it back to avoid hibernation, but this is obviously not ideal.

Under settings you will find accounts and sync settings. There if I disable Background Data more often than not, my EE comes back from hibernation. when that is active, it never does. If others seem to be finding the same thing, then I can try identifying other causes so that I can make sure it always returns from hibernation, rather than often.
Thanks
Mine is and has been unchecked, and at the risk of jinxing myself, have never had a hibernation issue with my red EE. And yes, after stating not going to update, i did.

Mine is set on and I haven't had that problem.

Hmm. I think it has to do with some background process running. The background sync probably takes care of some, but there must be some apparently or service doing something else in the background. I turned off Opera link. Killed Amazon app. Any other ideas?

The first couple of hibernations work fine after a restart. Then it locks up again.

Clean install anecdata point: my shiny new EE (which after 3 hours I already love more than life itself) shipped with Dingo 1.6. After set-up, I immediately did the Ermine update, and the only problem I've noticed thus far is the hibernation thing. Usual drill: it woke up the first time I opened it but needed the battery popped the second time.

Seems like a tiny inconvenience, especially since I'll mainly power down when it's out of use.

Beyond Ermine, did you install any other applications either before or after you upgraded to the beta?

still disappointed:
I realized that with all the tweaking with settings and rights I could predict with absolute certainty that the first hibernation after a restart would work fine, but the second one would fail. I then did a factory reset...same situation. I then went ahead and reverted to Dingo (golden update) and then updated it to ermine again. Once again the exact same pattern - The first hibernate after a restart works fine, but the next hibernation sends it to the limbo state. (it´s still clean No apps downloaded, library not restored, email not set up yet).

There are only four services running (EsiUpdate2, ReaderService, Transciever Service, Android Keyboard)

quite stumped!

Given this, the possibility of the hibernation issues being related to a driver might be valid.

I didn't install anything before Ermine, and I'm pretty sure the hibernation bug occurred before I installed any after-Ermine apps.

What's interesting is that from the "Ermine experiences" thread it sounds as if PEs aren't having the hibernation problem at all (or as much?).

My PE has come out of hibernation 100% of the time. My EE, not so much.

After hibernation we have the new screen with the unlock-slide button. I know that after I updated to Ermine this screen displays not only time and date, but also "This device belongs to myname."
A few days later it only displays "This device belongs to ......."
And now it doesn't display the line at all.
Anyone knows how to get the line with my name back on the device?

Upgraded to ermine two days ago. I am having hibernation problems as well. I work in education and close my EE several times a day. First wake-up usually OK. Then I have to pull true battery to regain control. Device is barely worth using until issue is resolved. Any answers will be appreciated.
