I think it's worth a try from fresh. It may have been an app that gave you the issue to begin with, and now you don't have any. You seem to be the first/only person with that issue.

Not sure if that has been already mentioned in the forum, but one can turn off the hibernation by going to settings > applications > development > stay awake. I'm trying that just now so not sure how much battery that will cost me.

I too am trying to figure out how to turn Hibernation off on the PE. Reason being is because a couple of users have reported White Screens of Death when trying to come out of hibernation. Unfortunately, when hibernation freezes the PE there is no simple pull the battery option like the EE, hence the White Screen of Death. Fortunately I have not had any hibernation related issues yet on my PE (neither has my son) but I would still like to know how to shut it off. I asked this question in another post but I need to repeat it: Was there a Hibernate option in Dingo? I don't know because I updated my PEs from day one. Maybe it wasn't included in Dingo for a good reason because of you Google White Screen of Death and Froyo you might be surprised. Heck, even i-Pod and i-Pad users report the WOSD so apparently it happens on may different mobile devices.

As far as I know, nobody has reported hibernation problems on the PE. I'm not sure that that is a problem you need to be worried with in re: the PE. Plus there's always the reset option.

In Dingo the PE would go into "sleep" mode, which basically meant that the LCD screen had turned off. It drained the battery much more rapidly. It sounds as though what pablodemasceno has described essentially reverts to that.

At least when it refuses to come out of hibernation you can pull the battery. pablodemasceno said in an update to his post that it didn't work. See above.

Yes, indeed it didn't work. The only option I found was to never close the edge (hehehe) but that's just ridiculous.

Sorry, I must have missed those, which supports my belief that they are the exception rather than the rule. I've had hibernation problems with the EE (running Ermine), but none on my PE (also running Ermine), and I upgraded the OS the first day the beta has become available. This isn't to say that the WSOD isn't a serious issue, but it doesn't seem like a very common one. But hopefully someone will hear from tech support.

I'm hoping you are right. I upgraded from day one on two different PEs and haven't had a problem yet. I did however see a white screen flash and then a blank screen before the PE went to the unlock screen. This has only happened a couple of times. I'm keeping my ear to the ground on this one.

There's nothing to figure out - this is how enTourage set the app. I suggested to enTourage over a year ago to use the page buttons to move down a page and then to the top of the next page as the navigation method. Clearly it was met with deaf ears, or there were implementation problems (the reader software, after all, is mostly from Adobe, with some customizations by enTourage).

OK, thanks. I'm still learning the e-reader side. Is there any way to hide the top and bottom menus on the e-reader? I know you can close the top ribbon bar but it still displays the title of the book.

No, it'll always display something at a minimum.

Browser is crushing randomly and very often. I had to install Opera.

Skype does not connect :-(

The tablet side is much faster, this is the only positive thing I could find so far.

I really need only a usable landscape reading, I do not care about Froyo. I hope it will get fixed or the reader is useless for me.

If you are reading a PDF you can also select Reflow under "View". not sure about other formats.

Unfortunately, this does not often work well with 2-column journal articles that have figures and figure legends.
