Development Ermine experiences

Re the green pictures from the camera.

I checked my EE and found camera saved green tinted pics but the video did NOT produce green tinted videos.

I looks at the single pictures and found they were 1536 x 2048 and not the normal, on my webcam, 640 x 480. Since most sensor units in webcams only produce native 320 x 240 or 640 x 480 maybe this is the problem and I can't see any way to set the resolution or, in deed, make any changes to the camera settings.

Tried to use my edge today and it gets stuck in a infinite loop to start (also the starting window is upside down!!!)
The steps to downgrade back to Dingo are not working and now I have a wonderful useless piece of ** set in my desk. Oops, I already had it before, but with Ermine!
Sorry guys, I'm really ****** off! I was one that, as many of you, got the Entourage from the very beginning and it's just annoying to see where all that went, all the fake promisses, etc etc. Just too bad!

Contact Tech Support for assistance in doing the Dingo golden update. It's not like there's nothing you can do

Just did the upgrade and then was presented with my login "connect the dots" pattern from the MySettings app. Had a momentary heart attack that it wouldn't have recognized my login pattern, but it did just fine. Can you describe how you got the patter to operate as a device login?
My system simply boots up and is accessible, I don't seem to be able to enable a password option at bootup.
I have used tools that add the pattern lock to specific applications, but would love a device login screen. I have the PE and am runing ermine.

ETA: Nope, didn't fix the hibernation problem. I can hibernate once, no problem. But the second time it never wakes up. I also tried it with and without background sync on. Doesn't seem to have made a difference. My wifi connection seems more stable though.

Interestingly I use hibernation al of the time, lose very little power and can use it over and over again on my PE without having an issue. (PE/Ermine)

If I read all those problems, I would suggest to get Sendlog on board. Make a sendlog after the start and after an error.

I had severe problems with my eDGe in the beginning and I was spamming Technical Support with sendlog-files. It did in fact helped them by finding bugs and to help me getting a working eDGe again.

just a thought...

at least it gives me enough to think about before I make to step downloading Ermine.

It's a separate app called "MySettings" that you have to install. (Not the settings of the edge itself). One of the options is "lock pattern" and it will show you how to choose a swiping lock code (rather than a code you tap in). I'm sure I probably got MySettings from SlideMe or one of the other app marketplaces.

My issue is with the EE and hibernation--my PE has come out of hibernation 100% of the time.

This just happened to me (I am on Ermine) Startup screen correct orientation .... Argghh Just loops through the Edge startup .... gets to the fourth dot flashes and loops.

Possible causes I had an application that forced a screen/credentials lock. I removed the app and the passwords/credential password. All was well. A few hours later I had the dreaded wirelees loss and couldnt get it back without powering down. Which I did probably held the button too long as no shutdown message , I havent been able to reboot since.

I am lost without my Edge (full size) Please help.

Is there any key presses to force a reload without having to recover back to Dingo.

As general troubleshooting: did you remove the battery and wait for while before putting it back and trying to reboot?

Re: Green tinted camerashots: just played around with it, noticed depending on the subject, lightsource or angle, the white balance shifted dramatically, sometimes for the better, often for the worse... so it may not be a real hardware/firmware issue. Would be nice if you could set/lock the white balance, not just for taking care of this issue.

Hi - sorry to barge back in here, but is everyone else able to run a local backup without issues?

I just ran the Local Backup fine on both my EE and PE. Be sure you have sufficient space available on your destination (200-500 Mb, perhaps more, depending on how much is getting backed up).

I did the test for you and it's not working for me either. So, we have another major problem here.
