Development Ermine experiences

Ok I got it working now. It seems that it is critical to erase the local profile/account first

Anyone figure out how to upgrade to the latest version of Aldiko? I have the older version that someone here provided a link for. I keep getting a notification from one of the appstores that there is an update, but it will not install. Not sure why that is, since we are now on 2.2.

I got my contacts synced as well, but the local calendar is still showing sync off. I wonder why entourage does not give us even basic update info. Beta testing is fun , but at least let me know what I'm testing.

Given that updating Android from 1.6 to 2.2 is pretty big and pervasive, I suggest we test anything and everything with no assumptions.

A lot of the updatestuff is Android 2.2 and not specific Edge-related. There are Android 2.2 pdf manuals on the internet. Maybe you speedy-english readers and writers can find a lot of info you need. It's 336 pages. You may find the answers for FroyoEmail and synchronization there.
Just a thought.

Today was the 1st intense work out of the reader since I updated to Ermine. The journal seems to be quicker and that is the only difference I noticed when taking notes. The reader and working with PDF's today was different. The loading of a PDF was the same. But it takes a very long time to activate a selected tool to work with the Pen, highliter, or "camera" to copy a picture for the LCD side. A very long time. I even rebooted to see it that made a difference; it didn't. Haven't used the rotate yet, except to find it and see if it worked. Annotating a PDF seems to have the same lag as dingo did.

Sorry, haven't been logged in for the last couple of days, or I would have answered more on the sync thing, but you guys (many of you much smarter than me) figured it out in no time. I'm still having troubles with the Entourage server even recognizing my EE, even though I got it registered ok. I still cannot read my SD card or connect to my computer without my EE LCD going blank. *sigh* If I can't figure it out in the next day or so, I'll probably have to revert to dingo.

Hmmmmm .....Very ineresting

Hi all,
I've been lurking here for the last month or so since I got the EE. After the Ermine update, my browser has not ever crashed, which I am glad about. I noticed the DONE key and the right shift key +? or ! not working at times, which is fine too. However, the hibernation problem is a niggling irritant.
I have tried disabling services, wifi, screenlock and it still refuses to wake up after the hibernation. Have any of you found a workaround?

Found the official Google manual and put it in my Dropbox account if anyone's interested. I put the PDF on my PE and it's usable.

I had a few issues at the start and I resolved it by doing a complete backup and resetting the device to factory data reset. Settings ---> Privacy Settings ----> Factory Data Reset. This took me back to Ermine basic. I then did a restore and all has been good since.

Does anybody have a guess as to whether or not doing a factory reset would do anything to address hibernation issues?

Whew! Just did the upgrade and then was presented with my login "connect the dots" pattern from the MySettings app. Had a momentary heart attack that it wouldn't have recognized my login pattern, but it did just fine. In retrospect, I might have uninstalled that app so as not to risk getting locked out if I were thinking about it, but I experienced no problem.

Possibly. Hibernation issues on the EE may be due to driver problems, settings, or misbehaving apps. A factory reset I think only addresses the middle one - settings. Doing the golden update to Dingo and then updating again to Ermine would take care of both settings and apps. However, it's also possibly a driver problem, which only enTourage can fix via an update.
