Development Ermine experiences

I was able to sync my google accounts on the PE, but not on the EE. I wonder if it's because I'd installed MailDroid on the EE? I'm going to try clearing the data app for the calendar and Froyo mail. Maybe that will clear it up.

ETA: I was able to set up my gmail account on the EE after clearing the app data, but not the calendar. When I go to menu -> calendars there's nothing in the list, not even "local calendar." And yet clearly there is a local calendar. When I did the same thing on the PE I had two calendars in that list: local and corporate.

It is exciting, however, that at least some of the calendar items sync.

Wow ... I just realized that there is now 2 calendars in the PE : The local one, and the NEW one (username@gmail.com) You have to specify the google one when adding an entry. ... and it syncs !!!
However I M quite sure that the ereader-side annotation will not sync in the google calendar)

Edit : I did it on a Pocket eDGe - and contacts don't seem to sync.

This worked for me! I now have access to my google calendar. Except that my contacts definitely didn't sync, and my EE calendar entries (which I specified as google when I added) don't sync when I check the calendar on my laptop.

The calendar syncs for me. So far the contacts I'm not sure.

Not this time I get the same green grainy pictures. Fortunately, in my case, it enhances my complexion :P

Try going into Settings/Accounts & Sync and setting up the "Corporate" option with your Google login and the server as m.google.com. After you set it up there, in a couple minutes it will show up in Calendar/Menu/Calendars as an option to sync.

Boris, I know that you're one of the very, very experience gurus here, but the PE has a very tiny form-fitted piece of saranwrap-type plastic over the lens... if that's not the problem with yours it may be someone else's so please don't take offense at the suggestion.

Light makes a HUGE difference... if I get out of the range of the lamp, it gets green and grainy again.

No offense taken I doubled checked again about the plastic protective layer even though I was sure I had removed it when I first got the eDGe. I now have scratches around the edges of the lens to confirm there's no plastic layer

You're right about lighting. In the bright outdoors it's better. I have a Canon Rebel DSLR, so it's a bit difficult to see the eDGes camera as anything resembling adequate.

To get the calender to sync, you need to use the exchange option. In that option you will need to put in your goodle email address as your user name and for the server you put m.google.com

I was adding to the local Calendar, which apparently cannot sync yet. Events added to the @gmail.com calendar sync, which is great.
Calengoo imports all my calendars and on my Android phone Jorte allows me to choose which calendars associated with my Gmail display.

Have you been able to sync the contacts?

Instructions if needed: (doing by memory bear with me)
Delete your calender profile
Delete your Froyo email profile
Hit your calender icon and select Corporate
type in your gmail address and password and hit next
type in your gmail address, password again plus in the server field type: m.google.com
hit next and finish
This lit up my entire Android, gmail, calender and contacts

I have the calendar and email working. But the contacts just won't download .

Still working through all the update features, but noticed that the battery on my PE is running hot. Not sure if its because I've had the wifi on the whole time, but before Ermine, it was just warm.

Addendum: PE says battery temp is 23.6 degrees C
