Handsome indeed--and charming, too. Two USB ports, one mini-USB port, one HDMI port, replaceable battery. Very nice.

Nature abhors a vacuum. The (information) vacuum has been created by Entourage's unwillingness to provide any information. Everyone is waiting for something, and when thrown a crumb, everyone behaves like the person at a slot machine who after losing $50, gets a $2 payoff and keeps playing.

The solution for all of this is for Entourage to tell us what's going on. Until then, it is natural behavior, given a place for speculation, to do so. Simple.

Hi everyone, here are my not so random thoughts.
I have been In the situation of being commited to silence. At the time a unit I managed was being closed. It is tough to maintain silence, for the employees as well as the client. But I can tell you when the decision has been made, justice - err... action will be swift. within a couple of hours of the announcement we will know what is happened(ing).

Having recently purchased my EE after following this form since early last fall I am concerned to be loosing all of you. I am just beginning to utilize my EE and really need your input and guidance because it is not being used to all of its potential. So, as I would tell my children when we would go to the mall, where and when will we meet if we happen to get separated? Just in case. There is so much information that can be lost we need a space to ask those questions all over again.

Thanks for your patience.

Mobile Read forum. I'll make a separate post so it's more visible.

I do not think the consumers of the Irex would agree. When Irex was purchased the new owners decided 'not' to continue in the consumer market.

I don't recall any eInk readers being announced/launched in the last 6 months or so. Seems that everything is now LCD, with previous eInk readers now going to LCD (Colour Nook? Possibility of a Colour Kindle?) The iPad has ruined the category. It makes me wonder how much interest there'd be among companies large enough to purchase the enTourage IP.

I don't say this to suggest eInk is inferior or not a superb reading medium, only that the "dumb" rest of the world is too distracted by shiny colourful bobs.

But surely given the true difficulty for many people of reading on an LCD screen for long periods, there will continue to be a large market made up of those of us who sit and read/grade/annotate for hours at a time?

I really prefer the eInk to LCD for reading. IPad has its good qualities but in some ways it rocked the market in the wrong direction, IMO.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but there is another solution: We could simply wait for the next communication without working ourselves up into a digital frenzy that they clearly aren't going to respond to. It's an exercise in frustration.

And frankly, if an announcement about a buyout doesn't come out of this, they should be embarassed for having let this kind of speculation evolve on the forum. I get that they're busy cranking out froyo, but how much does a temp cost per hour? $20, $25? To post to the forum.

I will try to remember this, if it goes this way. I have been too busy dealing with an estate settlement (cleaning forty years of stuff, etc, etc) to be using my edge much, and fear I will forget how to do half of the stuff I was using it for. Maybe I should start downloading some of the pertinent and helpful 'how to' threads put up by the many awesome members here. I would hate to lose you all, too. Let's hope none of this will be necessary...

I agree. Although I have normal concerns I am still hopeful that we'll get Froyo and some good news.

Yes! Would you please repeat that:

Thank you.

Two more points - they can't necessarily trust a $20/hour temp to post on the blog. The US President's press secretary is one of the top people in the administration, not a low-level staffer, for the same reason.

The other point is that they may be beyond embarrassment. I know that I am.

Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated. And you are right about the digital frenzy. I guess that, for me, the frenzy was partly in the hopes that it would evoke some response. To date, that goal has obviously been a failure. If I ran a company, I would not want negative comments on the web, readable by any potential future customers. Indeed, it is an exercise in frustration. I am sure that there never will be any level of embarrassment.

The neglect of this forum has demonstrated the nature of the company. As for "cranking out Froyo", I am quite confident that it is impossible that every employee is working so hard on Froyo that no one has any time to provide information to their existing customers via this Forum. Even if Froyo is released tomorrow, in my opinion, that does not excuse the total lack of regard for us as customers as evidenced by the lack of information. This is unforgivable.

Maybe an exercise is in order for all of us. Instead of focusing on the negative feelings that we have about the lack of communications from Entourage. Instead of speculating on what might happen to us if Entourage goes under or is acquired by another company. Let's all focus on how good the product that Entourage has already brought to us is. Let's concentrate on thankfulness and thinking well of the company for bringing us such a wonderful device. Visualize how great our EE or PE will be with the new Froyo update and future offerings from Entourage or whoever might have acquired them. If we concentrate on the good, instead of the bad, then maybe we can help, somehow, Entourage through whatever problems they may be facing.

Just a thought...and something I will be putting into practice starting right now.
