Prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

There's a special button you can press that zaps your hair follicles from the inside...

He isn't a deep sea cephalopod! He's the green, sticky spawn of space.

I think this is potentially a good idea :folds arms so no one can turn any pages!:

A few things to ponder tho - if it breaks, how do you remove it to repair it?

We're not allowed to use cellphones, laptops, kindle's (anything that sends/receives) on airplanes, in hospitals (which is a load of crap cos my son's cardiologist was sending a txt while giving my son a scan today!), etc so can we turn them off? Will those big metal detector things interfere with them in any way?

Bet it'd be expensive and you'll only be able to read a few lines at a time on your forearm!

The same way it got in there in the first place: surgically.

And please remember to have it removed before an MRT...

If the cell-phone portion is turned off then these types of devices are ok to use on an airplane and likely in a hospital. PDA's with cellphones typically have an airline mode that turns off the cell and the kindle has a separate switch. Metal detectors will not harm these devices.

Hmm. Is this perhaps an old April Fools or some kind of "prank"? I've had a very brief search, and saw loads of articles but they all had the same information and the same images.

In any case, even if it's a fake eventually we'll get stuff like this. I want one.... I wonder if they did some work with the angles and so on, based on the way I'll be looking at it if they could put one on my belly, that'd be big enough to read books on.

Isaac Asimov predicted something like this in his "young adult" science fiction series "Lucky Starr." the hero had a magic tatoo that only appeared when he wanted it to. Sounded sort of like this.

Isn't anybody worried about possible side-effects of transplanting electronic devices into human bodies? Especially one that hijacks arterial blood flow?

In and of itself, no: think "pacemaker."
