Because yahoo free doesn't provide pop or imap for all I know. So don't see how it would work with the email app...
Yep, that's the issue. Yahoo doesn't provide free pop or imap access unless you are using an IP address served by a service provider who is paying them. This is not really a bug, but it is frustrating to users that are expecting a different behavior.

Then it should not be listed as an issue or a bug since it is not. It is a imposed limitation by yahoo to force people to pay for the email account.

Yep. Much better framing of the issue.

Not all bugs are equal. These sound like pretty debilitating bugs. Unless...

Wait, so the web version of the free Yahoo Mail still works? The "issues list" made it sound like it wouldn't. (I obviously can't check for myself since there's no way I'm installing the update until I'm sure it won't break my mail access)

It works fine.

Very well. I will probably install the update.

I suggest Entourage change the "issue list" to make plain that it's only the mail apps that are affected, not the web version...to avoid any update avoidance on the part of less confrontational users than myself.

Ouch...that one hurt. You know Chubulor, developing a product isn't easy. Even a company like Apple, who have been around for over 30 years, have thousands of employees and lots of experience make products that have a few bugs. They can spend millions of dollars for an RF chamber and still release a phone that drops call when you hold it the wrong way. Maybe the word incompetent could be used when talking about a bug like that. But just because Yahoo wants you to pay them to access their servers directly doesn't make us idiots. Go try it on your Droid, Incredible, palm pilot, or even outlook express in windows.

I hope you decide to install the Dingo update, and not let a bug or two make you too grumpy.

I wrote that when it appeared that the web version of Yahoo Mail didn't work, which I think you would agree would have been a pretty debilitating bug for a device like the Edge. Now that it has been revealed that the problem only occurs with the mail apps, I retract that particular criticism.
