No, actually the entire quote is "CDW makes no representations regarding warranty coverage, compatibility or serviceability for products that are used outside the U.S. "

In other words, CDW is simply indemnifying itself from liability if the original manufacturer's warranty is voided by use outside the US. In the preceding sentence, it mentions that SOME manufacturer warranties are voided by use outside the US. That doesn't necessarily mean that Entourage's warranty does not extend outside the US--but if it doesn't, CDW will provide any sort of supplemental coverage. It's just boilerplate legalese to protect their butts, nothing more.

Go through the fine print of Entourage's warranty and see if use outside the US is explicitly mentioned as a prohibited activity that voids the warranty. My guess is that it isn't, but since it doesn't apply to me, I wasn't looking for that particular exclusion. But if you find something suspicious and need help deciphering it, feel free to post the language here and I (or someone else) will take a stab at interpreting it.

Disclaimer: not a lawyer, but I am a former purchasing agent who had to work my way through quite a few manufacturer warranties to figure out whether or not there were unacceptable loopholes.

No problem.

I found a copy of the eDGe's warranty online:

https://www.entourageedge.com/suppor...kbarticleid=26

As far as I can tell, it does not limit coverage to use in the US.

Did you see that? They've removed reference to CDW.com from the International shipping article in the FAQ:
Quote:
Online orders from www.entourageedge.com can only ship to U.S. and Canada. We will update this information when international shipping is available.

off topic I know, but I have been watching the forum and site for a while and am very keen to know how you are finding it in Australia.
Questions that spring to mind are:
* who did you get to send it to you?
* are you using a travel adapter for the power, or have you replaced the wall end of the cable that came with the AC adapter?
* have you had any reason to deal with tech support, and if so have they made an issue of you being in Aus?

Hey thommo, I'm also an Australian user.
-I got mine sent from a relative in the states. It ended up costing me a total of $AUS803 including a spare battery, choice of colour, with shipping via usps with postal insurance. we do not need to pay any import duty or tax as it's under $AUS1000
-I just went down to **** smiths and grabbed a new figure 8 power cable, which happened to be cheaper than an adapter and less bulky. the DC power supply supports 110-240V.
-I haven't needed to deal with tech support yet other than sales queries, but i assume so long as its not a 'please send to us' job then they wouldn't need to know where you are using. just remember that there are limitations on products from the ebook store i.e. text books can only be downloaded from an ip in the states.

Now also available in Germany under ebookreaderstore.de via the same firm.

I'm not sure about it but possibly the importer in the Netherlands has a contract only covering Netherlands and Germany?

Oh yes, €599 instead of $499 for midnight blue. I live in Russia. It is in the list, and you can specify an address in Russia in your account, but when I tried to checkout, I got that message.
