I can not down load the application at all, the download button is missing on the web page. Anyone got any ideas?

You have to have access to the Google Market to download the app. This might explain the lack of a button.

Also I noticed something interesting in this version of Evernote that I didn't noted before. In a journal if you select email as pdf then you get an option to send it to evernote. So this is pretty much an export to evernote option. Unluckily evernote only do handwriting search on images and not PDF. Now if Entourage implemented a email as image option instead...

The premium version of Evernote does OCR on PDF files, $5.00 a month or $45 a year.

yeah but I think I read somewhere that the OCR for pdf is different from the one applied to images and it doesn't work with handwriting. Not sure if this still the case.

I found a different way to get journal writeups into evernote and get handwriting recognition although is kind of involved. I just use the camera icon to generate an image, then save the image in the library then go to evernote and send the image. That seems to work. Just wished there was an automated way to do this for every page of the journal.

For better image quality you can take photo with a mobile phone, send via bluetooth and then send image to Evernote. but that's far too complicated for everyday use

Good Idea, even better if you have an Android phone. Direct share that way.
