				Donation idea for Calibre

First a short rant: I got a Visa gift card as a rebate on a Verizion cell phone. I really hate that. It limits my access to my money, it's needless plastic being wasted to make it and fuel being wasted to mail it, and unless you're spending the whole amount of the card in one place, it's needless effort and confusion to do a multi-tender transaction...especially for the kid behind the counter who has no clue how to do that. But the worst part of it is, if you leave yourself with less than a dollar on the card, there are remarkably few places to use it. You can't even pay your Verizon bill directly for less than a dollar. It's like they hope to steal that last few cents from you. I'm not the only one with this problem...Google the issue and you'll see there is a whole community of folks trying to use the last few cents on a Visa gift card. End of rant. Well, guess what: PayPal donations will accept it! So if anyone in this forum who has the same issue considers the little donate heart button on the Calibre tool bar, even after PayPal takes their cut, it should start adding up. ApK |

What a darned good idea, ApK. Here's karma to ya. Bestests. Neil Argh! The site won't let me give you a karma pat-on-the-back because I sent you some yesterday for another interesting post and MR tells me I've got to 'spread some around' before I can karma you again. Sorry. N Last edited by neilmarr; 06-07-2011 at 11:11 AM. |

Well, I can't give as much karma as Neil, but this is a great idea, so I gave what I can in Neil's stead! I only wish I could give more.

There's only one way to give karma here, and that's to hit the karma button after the member's logo and stuff on the left when you're really impressed by a post. But there are several ways to support Calibre, as well as ApK's wonderful new idea. One is to keep the download URL in mind (www.calibre-ebook.com) and to recommend it as often as possible and praise it for all it's genuinely worth. Which is a whole lot. Calibre is 'priceless' in both senses of the word. Cheers. Neil
