It really is. I was refusing to get excited til they were actually ON the train and on their way. Now, though, I'm all but counting minutes.



Not exactly - but it's short shifts and limited hours. My Customer Service Manager has been really good about this - she was also really good when I took time off because I was so upset when Toryn had the health issues when she was born. It doesn't hurt that we actually have enough people right now who want more hours.

I went to the grocery store and stocked up on what Melora said she wanted to eat, and some baby essentials. Then I came home and made a few of the things Melora said she wanted to eat that need to sit (my ranch dressing and spring salad). Picked up our meat department's specialty - marinated boneless pork chops - to have tomorrow night, with fresh corn on the cob. I think I'm as ready as I'm going to get... now just to keep myself from going crazy until we actually go get them!

I'm so excited for you -- y'all make some good memories and take lots of pictures!

Thanks Betty. I'm excited to get some pictures done. The girl that took those excellent pictures of Melora out at White Pines is in town - I'm hoping to be able to schedule her to do some family portraits/three generations pictures.

We texted Melora a bit ago. Toryn is sleeping on the seat next to her, but Melora says she is wide awake. I'm figuring we'll pick up one zombified mommy and one wide awake baby at the train station tomorrow, LOL.
I really did not schedule this very well. Printer's Row Lit Fest is this weekend too, and located about three or four blocks from the train station. I'd LOVE to stroll down there and catch some of "my" authors at the Mystery Writers of America tent, but I doubt that Melora will be up for it.

I'm home from jury duty. In this county we have a "one day or one trial" rule, so if you don't get selected for a jury on the day that you report, you don't have to go back the next day. I went through voir dire for a case, but ended up not getting selected so I've done my duty, at least until I get called again! Yippee!

I used to take knitting with me because sometimes there are long periods of down time, but we had a shooting in this courthouse (the Brian Nichols case) a few years ago in which a judge and several other people were killed, and security is tight now. Sometimes you can get knitting needles in, and sometimes you can't, so I put a tatting shuttle in my pocket and made a little bit of lace today. Jury duty is a great place for people watching, so even though I had my Kindle with me I never did any reading. A woman in the row ahead of me was reading on one, though.

That's lucky. For us it's two weeks, or longer if you get a big trial. If you are not selected on the day, you have to keep coming back again and again until the 2 weeks are up. Good opportunity to catch up on the TBR list, though .
