I love my Cybook. It is much easier to load ebooks than my Sony PRS-500 (which will eventually go to my unemployed daughter). Mine has been trouble free except for one thing. I need to get away from the Internet for at least 6 months to catch up on my reading - too easy to buy ebooks (not really complaining though).

I'm not sure whether it's the screen or the font that makes the Cybook easier on my eyes. Oh, another small problem. With the Sony I got used to reading left handed. Still learning to read right handed.

BTW I love the cover too. It protects and serves very well - leather or not. No trouble turning the pages. I just wish they had left a space over the LED so I could see it with out pushing the Cybook a little out of the cover.

Hi GeoffC
Yes, I got the Deluxe pack which included the brown leather cover. I quite like it. I suppose if I was really honest I would have to say my preference would have been for a black leather cover instead. I think it would set off the Cybook much better. I'll have to check out the M-edge leather cover you mention. Have been using my Cybook for the last couple of weeks now, and just love it. No problems so far......touch wood!!! I think you should go for it GeoffC.

Thanks for the info about M-edge black leather cover. I really like it, and the fact that you can fasten the cover properly makes it much more secure particularly if you are carrying it around in your bag. I think that will be my next purchase. $54.99 will only cost me about €36 not too bad. Thanks again.

The magnetic fastening of the brown cover gets a lot more effective as the leather (or whatever it is ) of the "hinge" softens with time. Mine is now completely "secure" - I can pick it up by the front cover, and the magnets hold it securely shut.

O.K. Harry. I'll go along with what you say, and wait a while before I spend any more of my hard earned money!! Probably just another one of your little pearl's of wisdom! I do prefer the black cover though.
Thanks.

Can anybody please tell me. If I purchase E-books in Mobipocket formatt from stores not listed on the Mobipocket Reader, will they sync to my reader and transfer to the Cybook in the same way?

Thanks,
Mag.

I've done it now, I've sung the praises of my cybook so loud and proud that mum wants one for when she goes on holiday!

I've been hunting about and earlier contacted NAEB about shipping to the UK, they said they would ship here and to ask anyone else who bought from them how much you had to pay.

Did you get stung by customs too?

To anyone that's considering a cybook - seriously, go for it. My mother is in her mid 60's, can't programme the dvd recorder without calling me three times and she wants one of these babies

If something is shipped to the UK from the US, you'll have to pay 7% import duty, plus 17.5% VAT on it when it arrives.

Cheaper. Sure, you're not getting a spare battery (I've yet to need one) and you get a 1GB SD card instead of a 2GB model (I can pick a 2GB SanDisk up through eBay for under $7, including S&H), but our price is still worth it.

Cost me £53.44 for import taxes fees and duty. Hoping it will be delivered on Monday.

Yes they will as long as the store(s) accept the PID you put in.

When I read the HMRC site, specifically looking for this information I read it as VAT only. Assuming it falls under palm held computer with no calculator function. Books are fee, and MP3 players are 2%.
