wouldn't it just suck if all Customer Service was that efficient, just think the next time you are at the DMV they have everything ready when you arrive, its not like they don't know when things will expire. Maybe the next time you eat in a fast food restaurant and get the wrong order, they will apologize instead of saying "Are you sure you ordered the Crapburger Deluxe?"

Customer Service was the foundation that businesses were built on, but they have all forgotten that and pay crap wages to CS agents and wonder why they lose customers...

I think the Internet Age will rejuvinate Customer Service. Perhaps not to the level of this lass, although Japan's customer service is really fantastic most places. But as managers realize that 'word of mouth' now reaches a larger population, they will be forced to improve customer relations just to stay up with the competition.

On the plus side for me, due to the labeling on my hay fever antihistamines, I've convinced my wife that for safety sake I shouldn't use the vacuum. It says so right on the medicine bottle. "Do not operate heavy machinery while taking this medicine."

I just HATE taking medication. The literature on most medications is so scary. The Dr. gave me a diuretic and potassium. The warnngs on the potassium are scarier than the warnings on the diuretic! They seem to be working, though I did wake up very thirsty.

In the past two weeks Neil Diamond has been on European tv a lot. My mother wanted to record it all (I'm secretly hoping they have dubbed him on German tv). Because I'm always the one who has to program the HDD recorder I've been trying to teach my mother how to do it, since it isn't that hard. In the last week alone I had her program the thing four times.

Tonight I saw a movie on the BBC that I wanted to see but is on way too late. Because I'm housesitting I texted my mother asking if she wanted to program the recorder. She just called me because she didn't know how to do and when I talked her through it she kept going into a wrong part of the menu because she thought it was more logic than going to the right section.

I seriously think she doesn't want to learn it. It's the same with the computer. Both my sister and me have walked her through selecting, copying, pasting, printing a selection, etc so many times she ought to know how to do it but every time we're (usually me) called to help her/do it. She's been complaining lately that we're irritated but after having to explain it for the Nth time I think we're allowed to get tired of it.

Finger's crossed that the film is recorded although I'm not keeping my hopes up.

If I have to face dealing with the pass office again before they get the new building with the promised changes (waiting chairs and a take-a-number system), I'm going to buy one of those canes that doubles as a chair.

Fortunately I only need a cane rarely, such as shopping with the wife. I can see, however, that the future doesn't include using it less. For now, however, I can still get around pretty good. Walking doesn't usually bother me like standing still.

Two days later, and I'm still hearing some protests from that sciatic nerve, but even more from my right knee.

Ouch! I hope the protests from that time standing go away.

The swelling does seem to be going down in my feet and legs. The top of my foot still hurts, though. Also, I did something really stupid. I was supposed to take the potassium pill with the diuretic. Well, I took the potassium pill but I accidentally took my thyroid pill instead of the diuretic. This plus bananas mean I probably got an overdose of potassium Friday evening. I did wake up thirsty and slightly headachy Sat. morning. When I realized what I had done, I took the diuretic w/o taking another potassium. I haven't noticed any other problems. I loathe taking medications. I really need to swear off diet coke, frozen dinners, and fast food.

Thanks! They will; just not quite as quickly as they used to.

It does sound strange that the warnings on the potassium would be scarier than the warnings on the diuretic. Just make sure to call the doctor if you notice any of those side effects, and don't be taking the wrong pill again! I'm glad the combination seems to be working for you.

I will join you folk complaining of aching legs/knees/feet - came home from my walk last night - and my feet ached! Still hurt this morning. Have added a trip to the mall to pick up a new pair of walking shoes to today's activities.

If your feet ain't happy, YOU ain't happy!

That's the truth! I used to have a lot more trouble with my feet than I do now. Feet are the two things that have seemed to have improved with age. Now it's knees and that blasted sciatic crybaby.

Let me be the first to recommend custom-made shoes. They don't look like the 'old people space shoes' we used to see when we were kids. Now you can get good looking shoes made from orthopedic casts of your feet for not a lot more than a good quality ready-made shoe. The comfort makes the extra few dollars more than worthwhile.
