I had my morning coffee a couple of hours ago, at 5:30 a.m. Now I'm drinking a big glass of water and cooling down from my walk.

I don't live in a rural area -- although we have a lot of trees, houses here are pretty close together and it's most definitely a city setting. However, this morning I saw two raccoons scurrying through a nearby yard, and this is what it sounds like when I'm out there just before dawn. Where do all these birds live? It sounds like a jungle...

(It's just audio, no video. I had to use the video camera on my phone to capture it, though.)

Almost. I do drink about one cup of coffee each year. If I go to some sort of meeting and a cup of coffee is put in front of me without my asking, I'll usually drink it just to be polite. It never fails to amaze me that folks would actually prefer to drinks this stuff!

Those aren't birds. You're being surrounded by a band of Cherokee on the war path. (Didn't you grow up watching Danial Boon?!?)

There is a wonderful piece of software called Atmosphere Deluxe that can create magnificent environmental soundscapes, all completely customizable.
Soft rain, hard rain, thunderstorm... on trees, on wooden roof, on the sea. Sounds of an English meadow, a mountain stream with or without campfire, etc... A dozen different bird songs to choose from, adjusting the number of calls per minute as well as the volume, different insect noises, different farm animals, etc., etc. You can create your soundscapes or use any of the included ones, even varying them to your own preferences! Fantastic for relaxation when trapped inside a city!
