Hello all
I am getting my Kindle today and have found this forum. It will be nice to be able to both learn and share about this really cool device. Thanks! I currently use a Dell Axim X51v for Mobipocket reader and Audible books. I am looking forward to my new Kindle. We are leaving on a cruise next week and it will be my trusty conpanion for 8 days. I should have a good feel for it by them.

Welcome to MobileRead, mhaas2!
![]() Make sure you turn off the wireless or take your charger with you (or both) on your 8 day cruise, and do let us know how it goes, I don't think we've had an "at sea" report on e-ink readers yet. ![]() |

Hey, welcome!
I've only been here a week or so myself and I'm already considering selling my hardcopy library as I've replaced most of it with ebooks. I think taking your ereader on holiday is a great idea - I seriously wish I'd had mine when my son was in hospital for a week (I would've had so much more room in my suitcase if I'd had an ereader) and my mum is considering trying to steal mine (HA!) or buy one herself for when she goes on holiday this year! Perfect time to join us - it's read an ebook week too! ![]() |

Hello mhaas2 and glad to have you here on Mobileread !
If you're into classics, I highly recommend trying the Kindle download guide that we created on Feedbooks: http://www.feedbooks.com/help/kindle It's a very easy way to download e-books from a Kindle through EVDO ! |

Thanks for the welcome. I have sad new though. My new Kindle arrived yesterday and after less than 2 hours lost the display screen. Amazon will replace, but that will take a month. I had to buy another one off ebay so I can have one for my cruise starting next weekend. Guess I will resell the Amazon replacement on Ebay when I get it.
