I heard there were books here
So naturally I was obligated to join.

While in the "I have a Kindle!" euphoria marathon of e-book finding, I stumbled on Project Gutenberg and through it, this place. Community looks interesting, hope I can contribute.

I did indeed and partook of it quite heavily.

I wouldn't have guessed there were people willing to do mind-numbing editing of the PG texts(the spartanity of which is quite understandable - they want as little extraneous data as possible, they're just trying to make sure the content exists at all) on their own time, but that's the internet for you.

Good to have your company, Faqa. The MR Library is named for one of our dearest members who died quite3 recently. PG is a superb resource, but I think you'll find that the books in the Patricia Clark Memorial Library here, though fewer, tend to be much more carefully prepared, lovingly created by generous folks who are now your fellow MR members. Believe it or not, there are people out there who enjoy creating nice e-books for the benefit of others. If you appreciate the contents of the library, you may wish to consider giving something back to the community by doing a bit of proofing yourself.
