If the book your interested in shows a percentage discount in its price at Kobo then you're good to go on using a coupon (I kind of look at this as coupon compatible labeling). If it doesn't then chances are it's an agency book so no discount is allowed.

Is that really reliable? I could be mistaken, but I had thought I noticed that while looking for stuff to use the recent $2 coupon on, and thought I immediately proved myself wrong.

Amazon cannot buy from any other shop if you are talking with DRM. Without DRM, any Mobipocket eBooks will do.

I don't know if it's 100% or not. I've purchased a ton of books (over 100) with their coupons and it's always been an accurate indicator for me.

I say Smashwords, because I don't buy from there because I hate their meatgrinder. Amazon also includes public domain eBooks in their numbers and in fact, multiple copies too. So the because of this, Amazon's numbers do get inflated even more so. Last edited by JSWolf; 06-02-2011 at 07:07 PM.

Point was on ANY of those devices, you'd need a compelling reason to shop at other than the integrated store, and there does not often seem to be one.

Plus, since you are speaking of this supposed "average user" who can't do so much stuff, what are they doing buying multiple readers? Sounds like a hobbyist to me.....

Ha! That didn't occur to me. I never ran into that between my wife and me, but it would have had me scratching my head.
