I tried it today, but unfortunately it does not work.
For example, the 3. smallest font size is 21 as default on the kindle.
If i change it to 22 and reboot the kindle, the font is as big as the next step (default 25), so it does not matter if i put in 22-25, size is always the same....

I bought a kindle 3 wifi which shows advertisement. I followed your instruction and succeeded to change screen picture. I am very thankful for all you have done. The problem is that after connected with internet, the screensaver is changed to advertisement again. Is there any solution?

Hmm this isn't about cheating Amazon and getting $25 off a Kindle. It's about setting custom screensavers on regular Kindles.

Hi, this is my first post here although I have been reading this fine forum a long time.

I have a problem putting other language on the kindle so that I can read azw/prc books but so far no luckl. Yes I know that Pdfs are readable on kindle but then we have the problem of white margins and zoom (which in turn are somehow solvable by removing white margin....).
I tried Duokan OS and although very very nice work still does not support scripts in Persian and it does not let me to use the features of kindle OS like audible and so on.
It seems to me that reading other languages on Kindle is not a matter of putting the font (or jailbreaking the new fonts) as I did this and all I had was no luck(the I18N font does not work on any of the Persian texts I put on the kindle).
I know that this could be done since I have seen people putting Chinese, Japanese or other languages on kindle... is it too hard to put Persian/Arabic language on the kindle?. I dont think so!. So I am after a solution.

I would apperciate even the smallest of clues on this matter since it is really bothering me.

I was trying to install a JailBreak (update_jailbreak_0.7.N_k3w_install.bin) on Kindle 3.2.1 (576290015) Wi-Fi only, standard ad-free version.

The process finished with 'update was not successful' message. Then the device reboot and 'update_jailbreak_0.7.N_k3w_install.bin' gone from Kindle root folder.
What should I try else to install JB?

I can't seem to uninstall my SS hack & jailbreak. I still have the original zip files from when I installed:

kindle-jailbreak-0.4.N
kindle-ss-0.15.N

I've run the uninstall from the SS but it says update fail, run it again and restarted a billion times but I still have my custom SS on there. Same with the jailbreak hack. How do I get them off??

I should add that I haven't updated recently, I'm still on 3.0.3.

Please, help me. There are too many pages to read. I have a big problem. I have bought a kindle 3.2 wi-fi. But i realized that is a sponsored edition. I can't have my money back because i did't bought it from amazon.
I want to get rid of adds. I tried the jailbreak, but it doesn't worked. How can i resolve this problem?!

You can't. If the person you bought it from didn't tell you it was the sponsored version, return it and get your money back. If you bought it knowing it was the sponsored version, live with the ads.

I followed the instruction and installed the 4.6N k3w package to fix the Chinese character issue in book-title (i.e., some character can not be displayed and is shown as a blank square).

However, nothing changed (i already copied the linkfonts/ into kindles root directory. what else I need to do? or is this because I should use font file of extended character-set? if so, how?

* Once and for all, the goal of the screensavers hack is to allow custom images on *regular* Kindles, it doesn't, and will never 'help' you bypassing something you agreed to (ads).

@Moosher: What's the error code shown on the bottom of the screen when the update fails?

I can not update my KDX (B004) to version 2.5.8
I tried to uninstall hacks but I get U007 error code every time.
Even after I reset the device !
Is there any solution ?

You're probably using the wrong version of the uninstaller.
