That is because the Nook Color is a newer product then the Kindle is and there has been a lot of research going into battery life recently. I think that Kindle owners can look foward to equal if not better perfromance with the next model of there beloved Kindles.

Sure, but the point is, Kindle is claiming the same battery life *right now*. (And it's not about the Nook Color, it's about the forthcoming Nook Touch.)

I guess personally I never believe any companies battery claims to be "real life". As long as I'm not having to remember to plug the thing in everyday I'm satisfied with the battery life of any of the eInk devices out now.

its not about the nook color.its about the new Nook Touch and the fact that after the Nook touch launched Amazon changed their listed battery life for K3 over night to match that the new Nook numbers.

So BN turned around and released they test used to determine their number and the results for the competition using the same test.

It absolutely should. I have no idea why there isn't already a solar case for the Kindle. Seriously.

There's a number of solar cases you could use for the Kindle, but what we want is the solar panel integrated into the top of the Kindle like on a calculator that is efficient enough to power the Kindle. I suppose it's possible but might be prohibitively expensive ATM.

A case would defeat the purpose, but google the term if you're interested. I would suggest sticking a solar panel on your window and just plugging the Kindle in once in awhile.

nook has almost 7-days of continuous reading. K3 has almost 2.5 days of continuous reading. I've like to see how 2 months came out of this.
