Just tested and my Kindle can be charged with my PowerMonkey (handy when I'm house-sitting). I just love it, the screen is so much better than my old Sony and I'm not missing the touch screen at all. I do need to get used to the different lay-out of the keys, even if the forward/backward buttons are placed more convenient.

My sister is happy because I told her she is getting my Sony. I first need to deregister it with Adobe and Sony. She also liked the Kindle, asking if they sell it in stores in Spain (she's going on a holiday there next month). She was even happier when I told her that many classics can be downloaded (legally) for free.

I just finished digging the hole where the new walkway to my pool will go. Now if only the weather will cooperate so I can get it framed and pour the gravel, sand, and concrete. Right now there are thunderstorms. Today the water temp in the pool was 81° F (27° C).

Singing a song in my head.

To the tune of 'lineman for the county' only the words tend to be.....

"I am a doorman for the kitty" Little bugga. I think he does it to exercise his authoritah! Now he is jumping on the computer desk rubbing his head on the speakers (to knock them over) and wah wah wah!

Bluddy cat now he goes out of reach - he knows he is not allowed there!

Got him (scruffed over the top of the monitor bluddy cat fur everywhere - bloke is going to growl if he sees that!) - now he is happy purring away on my lap. He will jump off if I stop patting and cuddling him.

Now on floor. Wait for it - wah wah wah, he wants out the front door. Because he is too lazy to jump over the fence, he wah wahs to go in one door and out the other.

See how exciting my life has become?

The sequel!

The cat did not want to go out the front door. He acted like he wanted out the back door, but made sure that I knew he really wanted a brush! *sigh* I have made a rod for my own back!

He sure was cute though - fluffy rolling in the late arvo sun.

Now the wah wahs will start for dinner as the sun is very low.

Seeing out my last week at where I currently work.

I don't know if anybody remembers a while ago when I posted about issues with my current job. Anyway, things came to a head and the team I was working on was disbanded. I was therefore offered redundancy terms (a sizeable pay-off. largely tax-free) which I accepted.

In the meantime, I had been looking for a new job anyway because of the uncertain situation. I have now been offered two jobs, both paying 20-30% more than my current job. Not sure which one to take yet (they're fairly similar roles) but I plan to take a few weeks off and start one of them towards the end of June.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together

As a "Head Of" in an IT job myself, I can empathise with your position (there by the grace of God etc. etc.). Sorry to hear that you have lost the job, but glad to hear you have better options in front of you
