It still happens whether you use the internal or external browser. As long as you select the book from within the search dialog and have it open the web page we still get credit (if it's a store that has an affiliate program).

Assuming a correctly-working affiliate program, then a commission is paid if the purchase is made with the same browser instance opened by clicking in the search results. The commission probably won't be paid if in the middle of the process, a user changes from the internal browser (the calibre browser) to an external one or vice versa. In any event, people should use whatever process pleases them. Commissions are nice, but it is more important that the store be easily used. |

in ebooks.com my selection (a stone for danny fisher robbins) is grayed out so it cannot be purchased (it appears to be a geographical thing), but not in amazon, barnes & noble, feedbooks or kobo. and when i go to ebooks.com directly (firefox) it can't find the selection at all.

Thanks for a great piece of kit, user_none. Do I take it, John, that 'Open Books' has now been dropped as a search option for DRM-free publishers and their titles? Some titles at 'Get Books' link to buying points that have store-imposed DRM padlocks and some with store-imposed geo-restrictions even on titles where the publisher holds international rights, I notice. The older 'Open Books' feature guaranteed DRM-free ebooks and would recommend no POS that imposed DRM. Very best. Neil

No. 'Open Books' is still being maintained and enhanced. I plan to include it in 'Get Books'. The issue right now is 'Open Books' does not implement any type of search. 'Get Books' is a search based system. Search is on the 'Open Books' todo and once it's implemented I'll add support in 'Get Books'.

Suggestion for a store to include: Powell's (http://www.powells.com/ebooks/). I'd buy from them by choice if the price were comparable.

Prime Books (publishers of things like The Hugo Awards Showcase and Lightspeed Magazine) have just relaunched their site, and now they sell ebooks directly!
