What's interesting about this is that the publishers-who we tend to think of as slow-moving dinosaurs, are in fact thinking about direct sales and subscriptions. It would have been nice if they had formulated the subscription question better so as to explain what they had in mind when they said subscription. As we have seen , subscription means different things to different people.
