Oh I was referring to the Kindle games from Amazon (as most people commented on things like scrabble and every word). *cry* I can't get them. Oh well...

I have Sudoku Unbound#1 by Puzzazz and love it.
Would love to get a good solitaire game, can anyone suggest one? |

I've been playing Blocked - Rescue the Block! The Kindle screen is filled with blocks surrounded by a border with one doorway. You need to move blocks out of the way in order to move the designated block out through the door. The game limits the number of moves allowed. There are many levels of progressively harder puzzles.
The design is simple but it's certainly 99 cents worth of distraction. |

There is a new word game available (free). Variation on a theme, but looks fun.

Another one I found that I like
I like Sudoku and bought Sudoku Unbound #1 on Amazon. I looked for more like it and found both Wordoku Unbound #1 and Symdoku Unbound #1. They are from the same people and are interesting twists on Sudoku. Anyway, just thought I'd let people know because I'm enjoying them and give a nice variety.

I had one of those plastic number-slide games when I was a kid. I loved it! So I was thrilled when Number Slide became available for the Kindle—and it's free! I play it every night before going to sleep. I usually play the medium puzzle. My best time so far is 1:00, which I don't think is too bad since I'm usually on the verge of falling asleep.
I also enjoy EA Sudoku ($3.99), Triple Town ($3.99), and Dots and Boxes (free). I have some other games on my Kindle, but those are my favorites so far. |

I must be really slow, because I keep losing at Dots and Boxes. The AI beats me almost 90% of the time. I much prefer word games like Shuffled Row and Every Word. Nothing to bruise my ego.

Don't feel bad, Metoo999. I was losing a lot at Dots and Boxes when I first started playing it.
There are a few important strategies. One is to not place a third line in a box if you can help it because Kindle can then close the box with the next move. If I do have to place a third line (because there are no other choices left), I try to put it in a place where Kindle can't close many boxes in its next series of moves. And there are times when it's not to your advantage to close a box too. I don't know how much it helps, but I tend to place lines on the outsides and away from where Kindle places lines. I'm sure there are much more sophisticated ways of playing the game, but I'm beating Kindle the majority of the time now. Last night I closed all the boxes, which was a first for me! That may never happen again. |
