Well - lawn got mowed yesterday - rain held off until after dark - had my first case of heat sickness of the season - so I guess it's officially summer now. Sigh ... time to get acclimated to the heat again.

Our weather isnt so bad. We just run the whole gambit from ice and snow in winter to very hot in summer (and humid almost year round). But i cannot imagine living in the pacific northwest in that weather, so I suppose we're even

Well ... most places I've lived have been job-related ... and I've worked at university settings most of my life - when I exited academia I was living in NC. I moved here in 1982 .. and the climate was MUCH milder ... warm/non-existent winters and summers that started in July, NOT in April. Conditions have progressively become more extreme, with icy winters and a 1-week spring, followed by months of 90+ F summer with 90+% humidity levels. I had never had to start up the A/C in April before. Hence the whining in this thread.

But, since the house mortgage is paid off, I don't anticipate relocating any time soon in this economy.
