How many people have you found reading

Each week, I think on an average week I might catch two people reading something on my commute to and from the office Most of them are simply staring into space? |

I walk to my university, so I don't see anyone reading while walking... even though I sometimes do. I rarely see anyone reading, except for class books and notes. |

I hardly ever am in a location where people will have the time to read, as I go to work by car...

On my normal commute on a bus I normally see (depending on occupancy) 4-10 people reading a paper book, up to 6 texting, 2-3 talking on phone, 6+ listening (usually) to music and (counting me) 2-3 eReading...

You do see a surprisingly large number of people reading on the London Underground, but this is probably just so they can avoid eye-contact . |

I used to walk and read but I did not see anybody else doing it. I tried to bicycle and read but that was too dangerous. Nowadays I am listening to podcasts when walking.

I see people reading pbooks everywhere, but almost never see anyone reading ebooks. The ebook reader's native habitat is the airport.

I'm on the bus for only about 10 minutes, so I don't even open a book. I usually see a couple of people reading the newspaper, but that's about it.

All I ever see are people yacking on the phone. While they commute. While they drive. While they shop. While they are walking across the street with their little children.

For me reading on any moving type of transport makes me nauseous. I wonder if other people are like that and that is why so few people read on trains, buses etc.

If I'm in a situation where people are waiting, like the Doctor's office, waiting for car repair or something like that, there's almost always people reading. I'm just not in those situations very often.

 I can't read in a car, but a bus/tram/train/plane/boat I'm ok with. | |
