I bought it on a whim, as I knew that I could return it within two weeks if I didn't like it. I ended up really enjoying it. I really like the "speed" of the iPad when reading PDFs, and now I'm glad that I opted for a device with an LCD screen. Also, I do like having colour. I do use the camera's for Skype quite frequently, so I'm glad that I bought the iPad II rather than the iPad I. Other than that, I don't think that I really do anything on it that would warrant an upgrade if I had already owned the iPad I. I do like the thinner form factor of the iPad II better, though, and the white bezel.
Interesting. For some reason, I thought you had the original flavor before you bought the extra crispy. I don't Skype, so I can do without the cameras, but I do like the thinner, lighter aspect of the new one.

Right now I'm getting ready for bed so I can wake tonight at 8:00 to watch the final episode of Smallville. The promos for the episode are using the Superman theme from the movies. A leaked video shows a rogue planet on collision with Earth. Will he finally put on the suit and fly? Surely this is a job for Superman. The special effects, which have been king of cheap lately, look great in the promo. They may may been saving the special effects budget for the big 2-hour send-off.

After tonight, I will have no must see-TV.

Well we are back, and both have survived the ordeal, and are eating and drinking for the first time in nearly 24 hours as we speak. Our little girl has got the protective collar, and it is hilarious . She keeps backing up, trying to get away from it.

Psychological damage may be the least of it .

I hate when a long running show that I love ends. I did watch Smallville for quite a while but I stopped when I got too busy with school stuff. I do want to watch this last season when it comes out on DVD.

Be careful - cats back up trying to remove the collars - and can get stuck under the bed or a piece of furniture! Usually don't need the collar after a day or so.

We were wondering about that. Will take it off soon to see how she reacts. As long as she doesn't keep worrying the stitches, we'll leave it off, as she's having real problems drinking at the mo.

I just got back from my trip to Wolverhampton. It was great going back and seeing all of "my" old places. I also went to a couple of things I've never been to before. The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter was very nice and I can thoroughly recommend it (although I advice going by bus or tram/metro and not walk from the city centre). I also went to Coventry, what a lovely town that is! It has a lot of trees and plants for a city. I also went to the Coventry Cathedral, very powerful and impressive.

In the hotel I stayed in the same room as three years ago, which was a bit weird!

Today at the airport I played with a Kindle at the Dixons. It made me realise that a touch screen isn't a requirement.

Nikita is mad at me. When I got home she walked up to me and started hissing (she doesn't like it when people go away).

Now it's time to unpack, not one of my favorite tasks.

Of course, there is emergency chocolate! I put away the ones that are not my absolute favorite kinds. Then when I am desparate for chocolate and my current favorite supply is gone, I just find the emergency supply.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great time. Did you buy anything new and exciting?

Right now I'm having the last of my morning coffee before my shower and the start of the day. My parents have a new internet provider and I have to go over to help set it up. They seem to be in a spot that is difficult to get coverage.

One of the reason I go to the UK at least once a year is to stock up on certain things. I bought some nice tops and a cardigan at Evans, I bought a bunch of dvds (tv-series are much cheaper in the UK) and I raided the Birmingham Lush store (I spend €65, if I bought the same items in a Dutch Lush I would have paid at least €80) and I bought a 12 pack of Cream Eggs for my sister.

Now it's time to start saving for a new desktop computer (although that Kindle did look nice!).

I think it's about time. Smallville was always about the journey to becoming the Man of Steel. It started off with Clark in his freshman year of high school and has been going for ten years through college and his employment as a reporter for the Daily Planet. As of this season, he's finally wearing glasses in order to "hide in plain sight," and while wears a red and blue outfit when doing his thing, he still isn't wearing THE suit or flying. The suit exists; it was given to him by his adopted mother at the end of last season, but his Kryptonian father has it stored in the fortress because he feels Clark isn't ready for it. I expect all that to change by the end of the series finale that starts just over three hours from now.

In related news, there's bad news for Wonder Woman. NBC has passed on the series.

The ending couldn't have been better.

Spoiler:
Tess killed Lionel, Lex killed Tess, and Green Arrow knocked off three bad guys including Granny Goodness with three arrows fired at once. The wedding between Lois and Clark was interrupted, but a glimpse into the future shows them planning to try again in 7 years, right about the time Lex Luther becomes president of the United States. Yes, Clark put on the suit and flew, all to the marvelous music of John Williams. And along the way, he saved Air Force One and stopped a planet from colliding with Earth. What a rush! It was more like a movie than a TV show.

Coveting a Kindle. It's good that it isn't available in any Dutch shops and that we haven't got a credit card at the moment, otherwise I would have already ordered one.

How exciting to find some new things and cheaper too.

I want you to know that because of you, I actually watched that tonight. I had to find the channel, as I didn't even know it was still on. My son and I watched the first few seasons together, then just sort of forgot about it.
It did seem like a more of a movie than a season finale. Thanks for mentioning it.
