No rain here - just low grey clouds.
I too had to take migraine meds this morning - this weather pattern (with the smoke) is deadly for those of us prone to migraines.

Still hot and dry here (with humid air because this is Louisiana) but we're supposed to have a "less hot" front that will make the weekend and the beginning of next week pleasant. However, it probably won't bring any rain with it!

It seems so weird to be worrying about a swollen river when we haven't had any real rain in so long. Seriously, my front lawn is dying. I don't have to worry about my house no matter what and, if they open the Morganza, I shouldn't have to worry about family's houses or my work.

Its drizzling here, picking up a bit, maybe it will clear the air some. Take care of yourself pooh - migraines are nothing to mess with and no fun.

Stella, Goldie, and I stretched out on the carpet by the deck doors and watched a line of thunderstorms with torrential rain go through. At times, the rain was so heavy it looked solid.

We had a thin but rather lively line go through here about an hour ago. My dog did his usual of demanding the impossible: "I have to go out. But I will not go out in the rain. Make it stop." At least, that's how I interpreted things. He barked to go out, I put him on the leash and out we went, but he stopped at the edge of the entryway overhang and looked up at me. He looked back at the rain, then back at me, then turned and walked back to the door when he realized I wasn't going to make the rain stop for him.

No, it's only when it's raining hard enough for him to really feel it. If it's light rain or just wet grass he's okay. We even have a dry-off routine called Teddy Towel. In fact, we just came in a few minutes ago and went through that. He loves getting dried off.

But then, we're talking about a dog that gets steak for dinner. With a salad. "Spoiled" doesn't begin to cover it.

bloke was just in the pool trying to change the valve, but we gave away all our dive gear.

He went in in his undies and a tool belt, with a hammer and axe head in the front pocket and a big hammer in the belt at the back. After a few failed attempts, he got too cold. Now we are going to obtain a weight belt to give him a better chance of staying down to do the job. Maybe convince him to put on a wet suit too.

He won't give up and pay the pool leak guy $350 to do it. The valve only costs $25.

Maybe more than my life was worth. I could still be in big trouble if he finds out I blabbed!

What was funny was the handle of the big hammer in the back of the belt kept trying to float up and twist around. He had to be inventive to keep it down.

62F now and a Severe Weather Alert? Apparently high 78F tomorrow then all of a sudden 20mph winds and temp drops to mid 40F with showers through Wednesday. Geesh... I just felt so good about packing away my winter sweaters and now I have to take them out again.

Oddly enough, the sun just peeked out here in RTP. Clearly just a hole in the clouds. At any rate, I'm happy for the rain. Its better than the smoke smell.

As for the official report : 64F with a heavy fog, soon to turn into the inevitable thunderstorms / humid hour / more thunderstorms. Supercat Willow will be cowering under the bed by the time i get home, i'm sure.
