Penguicon!

Are any authors going to be at Penguicon this year? I will be. I'm doing panels and I'll be in the vendor room. Info on the event can be found here: http://www.penguicon.org/

I know I'm not the only author going, as there will be quite a few. But I did want to see who else was going.

If you're going, post your info here! The convention is April 29th-May 1st in Troy, MI.

Wish I could

It's about a 3.5 hour drive for me (plus $4/gallon gas), and I don't think my 14 month old would be very happy with me if I made her take a trip that long.

On another note, I'd heard of Penguicon before but wasn't sure where it was, and it took me forever on the official website to figure out where it was located. They (you know, THEY) should probably do something about that.

Well, part of that is because *they* are a rather poorly organized convention. They're alright overall, but they do too many amateurish things, especially for a convention as old as they are. Oh well. Maybe some day they'll get a clue and up their professionalism a bit. But even so, 98% of what makes the convention awesome isn't the con itself, but rather the incredible people it draws in. If it was just the con itself, I never would go. But I've got for three years and will continue going back because of all the great people I meet, including other authors.

Well, you didn't miss much. The show was poorly organized this year and generally suffered from epic levels of mediocrity. It's kind of sad really. I've actually enjoyed going before, but this year was disappointing.

I thought about going, as I only live about 30mins away, but after looking at the website for it, I just decided to stay home like a vegetable.
