@Stitchawl
Haha thanks! Those really made me chuckle. I'm so tempted to repeat this word for word just to see what they would say. |

Repeat ... I do NOT recommend that. As I said before, these are your parents, and the believe what they are saying. Show them the respect that they deserve, but... You might wish the change the wording to make your approach a bit more gentle... Stitchawl |

![]() The really bad part about his chewing is that he likes plastic cords. As in computer cables. I hope that we don't find him next to an electrical cord. But we do try to keep a sharp lookout and don't let him run free when we're not home. Last edited by SameOldStory; 05-07-2011 at 10:05 PM. |

Talk about red tape and bureaucratic pay offs! Wow! This place has raised it to an art form.
![]() A few weeks ago I bought my wife a car. And it's been paperwork and pay-outs ever since! Before you can buy a car in Japan you have to prove that you have a parking place for it. There are plenty available, but your have to rent them. Cost is about $150 USD per month. Understandable. But before the dealership could process her paperwork, my wife had to secure the parking space and get "the official paper" from the space owner. That cost $150 for the paper... Just to have them sign a paper. Then she had to take the paper to the police to get them to acknowledge it. That cost $50. Just to acknowledge that they saw the paper. Then she had to bring both papers to the dealer who charged $250 to bring it to the Motor Vehicle Department and get another paper to begin the dealer process... Originally the dealer wanted $500 to get the parking paper and get it approved but my wife discovered on the net that she was allowed to do that part herself, saving $300 by doing 30 minutes work. Anyway, that was last month. She's supposed to take delivery at the end of next week. I can remember going onto a car lot in California, handing them money, and driving out with a car... Stitchawl |

well, my mom was able to make one of her famous comments about gay people on mother's day. i was not inclined to wish her a happy mother's day after that :P
right, and according to her, a mother cannot give her son too much love in case she makes him gay. or heaven forbid that a boy be too close to his mother, because apparently, that's a dead ringer that he's gonna be a gay, or, to celebrate her knowledge of a new word, a sissy. right. good thing mother's day is definitely over. I don't think parents have a monopoly on hypocrisy, I think just about everyone is fully capable of only seeing the things they want to see and only thinking about how they effect themselves. Hopefully, over time you can reason with them or, at least, get them to not make the comments in your presence. |
