Spam filters...
Those of you who are saying "I check my spam folder and it wasn't there" need to remember that, depending on your email provider, there are usually two or more levels of spam checking going on and at some levels, the mail items are simply thrown away by your email provider.
Those of you who aren't getting the notices might want to post who your email provider is, to see if you're all using the same one. |

Gmail--but I get purchase notifications from FW. And I've had newsletters from other places show up in my spam folder until I correct them; it'd be really strange if all of a sudden, gmail's settings started rejecting FW letters that'd been working for years. Yes, B&N could've changed what they were sending out--but changed so drastically that they get rejected before they even have the chance to hit the spam folder?
I have the newsletters set to plain text, not html. |

Well, that would be pretty darn conclusive even if other people with problems weren't on a variety of carriers. You aren't using RBL by any chance? I was wondering if fictionwise somehow got listed there.

My newsletters before September 2010 and other messages since have all come from silvermoon.fictionwise.com (062.fictionwise.com [206.137.17.62]) Perhaps someone who's still receiving the newletters could confirm the servers their newsletter has passed through (view long headers) |

I suppose the "chance to win $100 of free ebooks by getting our newsletter" disappeared about when B&N took over. The newsletter's no longer advertised; I'd've thought they'd canceled it, except apparently some people are still getting it. I wonder if it's tied to Micropay. |

it's not only the newsletter but also the weekly recommendations according to profile settings (or was that the newsletter)

ive not gotten a newsletter from them since last september and they arent blocked in my email either, also my support emails for minor issue are taking alot longer for replies and thier emails for support are getting through.
i used to LOVE fictionwise it was my only library on my ipod but between having only a few books in a series for sveral of my major liked series ive had to go with amazon. amazon has nearly every clive cussler, harry turtledove, tom clancy, james rollins, jack dubrul, terry brooks, erik flint, david webber and S.M Sterling. i really wish that fictionwise had a more robust library because i like thier service ALOT better than amazon, it seems that fictionwise gets 10 erotic romance novels for every other book they get and nether my wife or i are into the erotic romance novel thing. |

So far, it seems like the most common denominator is that the people who actually still shop at Fictionwise and want to get their newsletter aren't receiving it, while the people who are no longer buying and have no intention of doing so again are still getting it.
This seems… counter-intuitive. Maybe their mailing-list software is set up to try and bring apostates back into the fold? |
