				More margin moaning

After trawling through posts for a while, I thought I'd come to the understanding that the Kindle will only do margins on things like block quotes in multiples of 2em ...

... then I downloaded a sample of The Devil's Chaplain and there were quotes in there of only 1em! Or less! ![]() What I've been trying to do, is edit an .epub in Sigil so that paragraphs have an indent only on the first line only and then the quotes are all indented as a block ... but the best I can get is the 2em my goal is 1em text-indent and the same 1em for the margins ... but no joy.Do .azw formats have special allowances for margin sizes? |

That is not too hard. You have to edit your stylesheet to do this. Try to use 'text-indent: 1em;' for your paragraphs. It works for ePub, but I would assume it would also work after you convert it to mobi.

I've tried that ... I can either have 1em text-indent AND 2em quote, or no text-indent and 1em quotes. Can't seem to get it to do either

![]() Unless I'm missing something in Calibre when I convert the .epub back to .mobi ...? |

Margins in mobipocket can be specified in pixels, or ems, or percent... but always with integers. Your problem is probably due to the converter not doing the translation you'd like, but whatever it thinks is best.
