right now I am trying to tell myself to pretend that I am in a rainforest. I handwashed a bunch of my shirts that require handwashing tonight and have them hung up in various places in the kitchen

Thanks WT for explaining. The theory is that the hover mower glides effortlessly on a cushion of air. The reality is that you wrench your back and arm muscles trying to swing the damn thing back and forth, and you never get any straight "mow" lines using them.

Or you uproot the last of the "lawn" on your property and replace it with hoop pine mulch and garden so that you never have to look at a lawn mower again.

We have pavers and gravel everywhere except a little patch at the front that the neighbours mow for us.

We don't have a mower, but we leave a container of mower fuel in our shed so Bob doesn't have to pay for fuel to mow our little bit too.

UK Referendum to change the voting system used .... First Past the Post (status quo) or Alternative Vote (Rank candidates by choice).....

There was a Catholic church in my neighborhood when I was growing up that did just about that! They took up their lawn and laid cement instead. The real kicker though, was that they dyed the cement green. No joke...

That was more than 50 years ago. Recently I took a virtual walk along those neighborhood streets (having not seen them in almost 40 years) via GoogleMap and see that the church has removed the cement and replanted its lawn. Progress.
