				Happy Amazon Support Tale

Thought i'd throw this out here - my international 3G kindle dx's wireless died recently (a few days out of warranty, no less). The old 'no connection to kindle is available' error message.

1 phone call to amazon support, and a very nice lady declaring that "it's close enough to within-warranty" - and my replacement is on it's way a few minutes later (to Australia no less - where we cannot buy the optional 2yr extended warranty). Very pleasing - tho now i have no excuse to buy the latest version, curse the luck

Good to hear Amazon's CS is still going above and beyond. I have had one claim with Amazon for a faulty K3 and I could not fault them. |

Update: i received my new kindle dx, and guess what? No access to wireless. I had to phone them, and try manually switching the provider from the default (which was something strange like (502) to vodafone 3G).

The Alt Codes used were ALT YQQ, ALT RQQ, and ALT EQQ (the last gave me the list of providers). I thought alt codes didnt exist on the kindle 2nd gen? These codes didnt work, by the way, on a normal 2nd gen kindle. Anyway, still happy support ![]() Edit: Gotta do the ALT thing from the 'settings' page Last edited by Enk; 05-05-2011 at 06:59 AM. |
