The email for the latest offering just popped up in my mailbox.

John Scalzi's _Old Man's War_ is now available, in PDF, HTML, and Mobipocket format!

Looks like someone at Tor has been listening to suggestions.

No TOC on the mobi version but otherwise copacetic.

Do the pdf and html versions also lack a TOC?

Did you guys notice the link in the top right of the email to 'send this to a friend'. You can share the 3 files with up to 5 email addresses and they don't have to be signed up.

And you can do it more than once.

Methinks in a year or two we will be fondly looking back on this time as the 'Good Ole Days', especially when all this free good stuff dries up.

To what email address did you send you request for an html version? I sent to email address we get the ebooks from. So far no reply.

Got the second book as well. Not crazy about it since I already read a hard copy of it. In fact I have the whole trilogy right next to my computer . But I must agree they really are listening, and listening well. 3 formats! no DRM! Now that's the way to get happy customers. I hope the store will also feature DRMfree ebooks. Many of my favorite authors publish at Tor and I would much prefer to buy their work as ebooks that order it through Amazon.

The PDF looks good. The HTML's cover is small and no ToC links.. The PRC is awful. That about sums it up.

Well, the PRC isn't great but I don't think it's horrible. I ran it through & converted it to an LRF. Might not be formatted the best it could be, but other than extra line spacing & small artwork it isn't too bad. It will probably be just fine for many folks.

Well, It's not that hard to make a proper ToC and use decent sized graphics. So yeah, I am disappointed in the HTML and PRC.
