I liked that the blurbs were included. I've read most, started a couple I would not try again, and a few have been and will be rereads.

What I do remember is that I did not read them all in one sitting, although you probably could.

However, I don't think I read any of them in one sitting. Maybe Brave New World. Maybe.

I think the books on such lists are subjective myself. I mean if you enjoy a story you will find yourself having a harder time putting the book down even when you should due to other things that need doing. On the other hand if a book doesn't catch your interest for some reason it will take longer to finish it (if you in fact do). I've read about 7 of the books on the list though not usually in one sitting. Animal Farm for example is one I read in English class back in High School.

I read Animal Farm aloud in one sitting. There are several on the list that I have read in one sitting, but there are even more that I can't imagine being able to read straight through.

I read Heart of Darkness is one sitting, but have only read two of the the others at all. I loved Heart of Darkness, though I understand it has been referred to as "the longest short story you'll ever read" (as in, it's short...it just feels long

Obviously I didn't feel this).

Good list. I've read most of these, but like many others in this thread I haven't done it in one sitting. Perhaps this could be a new challenge in my life: endurance reading

The great gatsby is the only one on the list that i found worth reading in one sitting. The rest either took longer or i havent read it yet (about 50/50).

Only read a couple of pages and came to this conclusion myself. I ditched it.

However, I am still intending to read this one.

I've read at least fourteen of the twenty--I'm quite impressed with myself! I think most of them were assigned in high school. No idea how many I might have read in one sitting.

The one that really doesn't seem to belong there is Wuthering Heights--I don't have a copy handy, but isn't it much longer than most of the others listed? Or did it just seem longer?
